Motorola Photon, is it for Me? #MotoCalyp

11.26.2011 by Girl on Fire // 4 Comments

I think it’s safe to say that most of you know that I am in love with my EVO.  It has been my brain for the past year.  My first real smart phone.  Well, I had a Blackberry before the EVO…but it wasn’t enough brain for me!  My phone has to work for me!

So, I heard about the Motorola Photon.  The only Motorola I have ever had was the old school direct connect style.  I didn’t even realize that Motorola made a smart phone.  I headed over to Radio Shack to check it out.  Then I did a little research online.  You can view my story on Google+.

The Motorola Photon is rad!  The first thing I noticed was that it was about the size of my EVO.  I like phones with a large screen so that I can see things better, especially photos!  I talked to the sales person at Radio Shack and he said that the camera on the Photon was fantastic!

I also noticed that the internal memory was huge!  That is my biggest gripe about my phone…not enough internal memory.  It prevents me from getting some of the apps that I want and that aggravates me.  The Motorola Photon has 16 GB internal!!

Check out how the phone compares to my EVO:

The battery and talk time is much better on the Motorola Photon as well!  That is just awesome!  The battery on my phone goes dead pretty quickly if I am using apps a lot.

I think this could really work for me.  Thing is, I have to wait til next year to be able to upgrade again.  If I was to purchase it, I would definitely do so at Radio Shack!

The reason that I would buy from radio shack is because the prices are great.  Also, if there is a rebate, you can get it instantly instead of mailing it off like you have to do at the Sprint store.  The staff at our local Radio Shack are techies.  They really know their stuff and are always more than willing to talk about the products and give you an honest opinion on them!

I really dig the Motorola Photon!  I think this would be the perfect next phone for me.  It would be even better if the price dropped between now and then haha!

I did see that there is an online deal right now!  If you buy now, you can get free 2 day shipping!

I’m hoping to join the rest of the world and get a smart phone soon. I’ll definitely give this Motorola phone a good look. Thanks for the info!

Best Buy was recently selling the Photon for $50. In addition, Amazon had a week-long sale of many phones for just a penny for new customers of the different carriers. Existing, out-of-commitment, customers were looking at prices around $50 for the Photon and for other leading phones.

No doubt there are better deals out there than what you can get from Sprint directly.
