Money Is Scary, Here Are Some Great Tips!

06.27.2021 by Mattie Cook // Leave a Comment

Money is a topic that makes most people (including myself) very anxious! You either don’t make enough or you spend too much, or somewhere in between.

I am always looking for inspiration and help on how to get my finances more in order, so I thought I would share some of my most inspirational finds with y’all!

As I have gotten older, I have started preferring listening to things with meaning and valuable information. So over the last few years, I have noticed my favorite songs being replaced with knowledgeable you-tubers and helpful podcasts.

Now don’t get me wrong, I still LOVE music! I just feel like I am fitting more into my day when I listen to something that is actually teaching me valuable information. I feel like learning how to make investments is just a tad bit more important than knowing every word to Fergalicious HAHA!

One of my favorite YouTubers when it comes to money, time management, and even stress management, is without a doubt Amy Landino . I have been watching her for years and her advice has never failed me.

I’ve honestly always been really good at managing my money and finding ways to make it. I started out super young with a good old-fashioned lemonade stand and have worked my way up ever since.

I think my biggest financial issue as of the last few years, is making enough money. You see, I make enough to care for myself. But, now I am a single mother so there are expenses like childcare, diapers, and apparently a new pair of shoes every month!

Make it happen!

So over the last few months, I have been watching Youtube videos about side hustles and extra income. I have found a few sources that I actually really like such as DoorDash and Shipt. I love shopping, so it’s honestly super fun for me to get to shop while getting paid instead of spending money! Plus, the tips are usually pretty awesome!

There are also ways to make money without even leaving your house! Dan Lok has some pretty dang good advice on how to make a hefty profit by using your own computer. I have also found good advice on sites like Entrepreneur and Forbes. You can take paid surveys, data entry, become a virtual assistant and so much more! If you’re good at writing you could even pick up some paid blog posts!

There is really no limit on how much money you can make, it’s all up to you and how smart you want to be about it. Maybe you don’t even need to make more money, maybe all you need is to really buckle down and learn to budget. The solution is different for everyone, as we all have different wants and needs. I definitely recommend not cutting out things you love though!

You know what though? I will never cut out the fancy coffees that I get on occasion! I repeat NEVER! We shouldn’t have to give up things we love, we just have to be a bit smarter about where else our money is going!
