Mask Crafts for Tons of Family Fun
It’s raining. It’s pouring. You know the rest. Problem is, what do you do on days like this? One idea is to get crafty – literally.
Masketeers
Make sure you go to StinkyInk and stock up on ink. You’ll need it with Masketeers. Ian Nicholls is the brainchild behind the site and created it when he saw his wife try (and fail) to make cool masks for the kids.
If your craft skills need work, this site is for you. All you have to do is go to http://masketeers.com/, and download a mask you like. Then, print it out. The site boasts the largest collection of masks on the Internet. And, that’s no small feat. It’s just 5 years old, but in that time, it’s managed to dominate the admittedly niche industry of “printable masks.”
StarWars.com
Want to be part of the rebel alliance? Maybe your kids want to be part of the evil empire. Now they can be. StarWars.com lets you print out a variety of themed Halloween masks Print, cut, and wear. It doesn’t get easier than this.
Mr. Printables
This cute little site is for kids, with free printable masks and other fun things to wear. The site isn’t the richest site, but it does have a fair assortment of animal masks, robots, dragons (who doesn’t like dragons?), and Halloween masks. Most of the masks here are pretty plain looking, and even the recognizable characters like Mario, look a little generic. But, for free, it’s hard to beat.
Disney Family Masks
Disney usually does a good job with kid-themed stuff. After all, the entire reason for its existence is “family fun.” And, it doesn’t disappoint in the mask business. You won’t find a huge selection, but if your kid is into The Avengers, they are well-represented on the site.
The masks can be found through this site: http://family.disney.com/halloween
The quality of the drawings and colors is typical of what you would expect from Disney.
Squidoo Lens: Free Masks
Here, you can find John Lennon, Elvis Presley, The Queen, Batman, Spiderman, and even characters from Dr. Who.
Ok then. If your child is a sci-fi or fantasy buff, it’s one of the few places that will cater to those needs. It’s odd for sure, but it’s also really, really cool.
Like many of the other sites in this list, downloading the masks is free and easy.
Pinterest Masks
You can even find masks on Pinterest. If it has to do with creativity, then you’re almost sure to find something interesting on Pinterest. Go ahead. Try it out. When you search for “free printable masks” on the site, it opens up a plethora of options for you and the fam.
Like any other pins, the masks link to their source website where you can either print out the mask, or search for other, similar, masks.
Pinterest is the visual search engine today, so you shouldn’t have any problems finding what you want.
