Jeremy’s cabinet business is starting to generate a lot of attention and a lot of work. We had talked about investing in shop, but at the moment we are thinking that he could continue building out of the garage for a bit longer. Right now he only has access to about 1/2 the garage to use as a workspace. He has made due with that, but it requires moving stuff around constantly, that get’s old fast.
If we were to move his boat out into storage that would make a lot more room. We have been calling around on self storage prices for our area and honestly, they are not too bad. With a storage unit, we could get the boat out of there, as well as some other things that are not needed on a constant, regular basis.
It’s been awhile since I had a storage unit. I had one in Florida forever! FOREVER. I had it for way too long though. Having that storage unit really helped me out because I had to move quickly, yet I had no way to move our belongings out of state.
Our belongings survived hurricanes and everything in that storage unit. When we finally got everything back, it was like Christmas.
While I don’t want to have so much stuff that I need a storage unit, I think they are great for instances like the ones I mentioned above. Especially storing the boat. I mean it would be local and it wouldn’t be a big deal to drive over to hitch up the boat to go fishing. But man, the room we would have if that thing was in storage would be great!
Do you have a storage unit that you keep things in? What sort of things are you storing? Household? Clothing? Vehicles? Boats? Pet Elephant?
