Low-Stress Family Game Night

12.06.2017 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

We really enjoy a good game night, but sometimes a game can be a little stressful for some kids if it is overly complicated and too involved.  Sometimes you just want a nice low-stress family game night where the game is easy, and the kids are happy.  The Spin Master Cars 3 game called Risky Raceway is one of those low-stress games I am talking about.

Recently we checked out the SpinMaster Cars 3 game called Thunder Hollow Mud Madness, another low-stress game for kids that I recommend.  This game is similar but also different.  It is similar in that it is based on the Cars 3 movie and it doesn’t have a lot of rules.  Simple to the point game that even very young children can play.  Emma tends to stress out easily, especially when she is tired.  These games suit her perfectly.

 Spin Master Games

Cars 3 Risky Raceway is a 2-3 player game and was sent to us to check out by Spin Master, who has sponsored this post.   Spin Master Games – Cars 3 toys are available now at Walmart, Amazon and Toys”R”Us!

One thing I like about them is you can play 4 or 5 times without spending hours playing it.  I don’t always have a huge chunk of time to dedicate to gameplay, so this makes me feel like a better mom ha.   (side note…ignore the dog hair on the floor in my photos, I have been crazy busy this holiday season with my photography business…no time to vacuum)(second side note…ignore that I am a professional photographer that only used cell phone snaps for this post).  This game is for ages 5 all the way up to ancient.

One fun thing about these games is that you put the entire thing together, including the board which is a giant puzzle.

Risky Raceway

You get to build all of the bridges in this one as well.  It is a very dimensional game.  I think Emma had a lot of fun building it and did most of it while telling me to leave her to it.

I love the little cars and the bridges.

I think you can kind of figure out what the goal of the game is without me telling you, but I will tell you anyhow.  You want to win the race!

To play, you simply spin the spinner, I love games with spinners….

Low-Stress Family Game NightWhen you take your turn you have to choose a route.  You can choose to take the shortcut or the training path.  The shortcut is obviously faster, however, you will not earn your training tokens!!  Training tokens are needed to get you out of a tight spot once in awhile, which means sometimes the fastest route really may be the longer route if you have a training token to get you moving again.

Emma decided to also make up her own game afterward by combining parts of both games we have.  I always encourage my kids to create with what they have.  Making new ways to play a game is a real educational activity.

You can find these games as linked below.

  • Cars 3 Risky Raceway: Walmart
  • Cars 3 Piston Cup Showdown: Toys R Us
  • Cars 3 Cardinal Cars Fishing Game: Walmart

Have you played any of the Cars 3 games yet?  These would be a great idea for Christmas for your young ones this year.

Educational Fun with Cypher Kids Club! #CypherKidsClub #CBias

Isn’t it great when you find something that your kids think is super fun and entertaining, and then as a bonus it’s educational?  Yes, I always feel like I have scored in a major way when this happens!  I don’t like my kids being sucked in to mindless time wasters.  I love them to exercise their brains, they are […]
