I am participating in a sponsored campaign for Beano®. I received promotional items and Beano® products in exchange for my participation. The opinions stated here are my own.
I am so excited to share with you all that I was chosen to participate in the “Be Natural” Virtual Cook-Off with Beano! The challenge was to create a recipe that included at least 5 proven gas producing ingredients! They sent me a pretty long list to choose from. I could have made many recipes from the ingredients!
My recipe is called Veggies with Chicken Sausage Linguine! YUM!
- 1 Pkg Chicken Sausage (or regular sausage).
- 1 Head of Broccoli
- 1 Head of Cauliflower
- 1 Bunch of Green Onions
- 1 Bag of mixed Sweet Peppers
- Minced Garlic to taste
- Italian Seasoning to taste
- Olive oil
- 1 Pkg of Linguine
- Shredded Parmesan
- Cook Linguine according to pkg directions.
- Wash all vegetables and drain. Cut Broccoli and Cauliflower apart into florets. Cut Sweet Peppers into strips. Place all in a bowl. Add a tablespoon of Olive OIl and minced Garlic and Italian seasoning to your liking. We like a lot! Mix well.
- Slice Sausage and Green Onions. Add 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil to skillet and add sliced sausage, top with green onions and more minced garlic. Add Italian Seasoning and let simmer until sausage is browned. Once browned, pour this mixture over linguine and mix well being sure that all noodles are coated.
- Heat Wok and add a little olive oil to coat pan. Place Broccoli, Cauliflower, Sweet Peppers and Garlic mixture into Wok and stir fry. Be sure to not overcook. You will want your veggies to be nice and crisp.
- Serve Linguine and sausage on a plate, topped with veggies and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top. Serve and Enjoy!
This is a very simple recipe. Below you can view step by step photos and instructions.
First you’ll want to get your water boiling to cook your linguine noodles. Just cook them according to the package instructions.
While that is going on, go ahead and wash up all of those pretty veggies!
Once those are all washed, drain them and then begin cutting up your veggies for cooking.
You can throw all of those in one large mixing bowl. Set that aside and then start on your green onions, but keep the green onions separate.
Once your green onions are cut, place them in a bowl with some minced garlic. We like a lot!
Go ahead and add some garlic to the top of your other Veggies as well…YUM!
Now drizzle some olive oil over the top of those veggies and mix well!
Ok, set all of that aside and pull out the sausage! We use a chicken sausage that has italian seasonings and mozzarella in it. Just use your favorite and slice it up…
Now add this sausage to a skillet and top with about 3 tablespoons of olive oil. This is how you make the “sauce”.
On top of your sausage, add your green onions and garlic as well as some italian seasoning.
Let the sausage start browning before you mix it all up. After it begins to brown you can mix it and cook until done.
I like mine to look like this…
This is the step where kids and husbands start wandering into the kitchen drooling.
Once it is browned to your liking, go ahead and pour this over your cooked linguine and mix it up well. Make sure all the noodles get coated with the oil mixture.
Next up is the stir frying of the veggies! You do not want to overcook them. The goal is to have nice crunchy veggies! Just add a little olive oil to your wok and cook quickly.
Next take the linguine and sausage mixture and plate it up, on top of that add some of the mixed veggies. Finally top it with some parmesan, pop a Beano Melt away and enjoy!
I had never used Beano before, sure I had heard of it, but never tried it. It’s really crazy that I hadn’t because I consume a lot of Vegetables in their raw form that cause intense gas pains. Now I am a true Beano Convert!
