As a photographer, I am thrilled when my kids show an artistic interest in photography. Not thrilled enough to let them use my camera, I mean…my camera is a bit much for learning. It’s also way to expensive to trust to little hands. My youngest daughter was the only one that did not yet have her own camera. She is 7 and still a little irresponsible for a camera that isn’t built to withstand a child. Kidizoom Camera
Kidizoom Camera is a camera from VTech. VTech is already a brand that I trust and love as a parent. The Kidizoom Camera allows your child to take real pictures and even make movies! I am sure you have all had a chance to see Emma on my blog and probably know that Emma and Lauren are all about being in front of the camera for pictures, as well as little movies that they make. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom. The camera has in camera editing with fun effects and it even has some photo and memory games. They can also create stop-motion animation videos.
The camera has an automatic shut-off, which is great for forgetful little ones! The girls taught themselves how to use it without any help from me. The navigation is super simple with the great kid friendly menus they have designed.
For a kids camera, it has some great features. For instance, it can store 800 photos! It also has an expandable memory and you can connect it to a computer. YOu can also connect it to VTech’s Learning Lodge, we haven’t done this yet. The best part? The price on this is fantastic! MSRP: $39.99! It says ages 3-8, Emma is 7 and loves it. Lauren is 9 and thinks it is a lot of fun! It is available in Blue and PInk, Emma was stoked that hers was blue, since that is her most favorite color!
We have been so busy with the move and getting settled into the house that I have not had a chance to pull Emma’s photos off the camera to share yet…I know, slacker mom…but really, I’ll get some up to share. This would make a fantastic affordable Christmas gift this year!
