Influencer Marketing, How it Can Help

01.25.2019 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

In this day and age, in order to really be able to succeed, you need an online presence.  You need influencer marketing.  This is more than simply writing a blog post or posting to your facebook page.  You need an audience.  A really large audience.

Who are Influencers?

Influencer marketing requires influencers.  But who are the influencers?  Sometimes they are celebrities, but honestly, I am more likely to relate to a real person rather than a celebrity.  Influencers can be anyone that has a following of people.  People that want to see them and what they are doing.

Influencer Marketing

What Industries have Influencers?

There are influencers in every industry.  For me, I follow a lot of photographers.  I like to see what they have going on and some of them have a large following and that following is influenced by them.  From the gear they use, to the software they use, each time they talk about it on social media they are influencing their followers.  Lighting a spark of interest in things they may not have known about before.

How can Influencer Marketing help you?

Do you have a product that you sell?  If so, getting into the hands of relevant influencers could be a major kickstart for your business!  Influencer marketing is huge right now.  People feel connected to these influencers.  They trust them because they feel like they have a kinship with them.  If they share common interests they attract this group of people that want to see into their lives.  In a way, it sounds a little creepy right?  I am guilty of it as well.

There are people that I follow on Instagram because I am so invested in what they have going on.  What they are doing, ideas they have…it’s almost like being able to leave the house, which is something I rarely do these days.  Check out these top Instagram influencers.

How can you use Influencer Marketing

Unless you know how to approach these people, you might want to use a professional like Nancy at Behrman.  Using a professional will take a lot of stress off of you.  I’m personally not a person that likes to talk to strangers.  I like to look at the stuff they post, but initiating a conversation is not my thing.  By using a professional, they can reach out to the social influencers that would actually work with your needs.  The ones with the right audience.  We all have our skills and sometimes need to stay in our own lane by utilizing professionals to handle what we can not.

It is more than a numbers game

It really is more than using someone with a large audience.  That audience needs to be the right audience.  They need to actually have an interest in what you are selling or offering.  So keep in mind it is more than just the numbers.  Yes, the numbers matter, but the interest of the followers need to be looked at as well.  Just because someone has a bazillion followers, does not mean that those followers care about a t-shirt you are selling that is aimed at a certain demographic.

When I was a younger me, I skated.  I loved it.  I was never fantastic, but I always tried.  My husband too skated, although he was much better than me.  He has been talking about skating again, which I think is cool…I just worry about the whole breaking a hip thing at our age. Well, […]
