I was so stoked when I found out I was getting to review the Tassimo. Anyone that knows me can tell you that I am a coffee junkie. Plain coffee, fancy coffee…all of it. Junkie. I used to spend a good deal of time at Starbucks. I use to have some major connections when I lived in Tennessee. Moving to Texas caused me to lose those connections. Ugh. So paying for Starbucks started biting into my wallet a tad too much. Starbucks has dwindled down to an occasional indulgence. Now though, I have the Tassimo and I am in Heaven!
The Tassimo is no where near as big as I thought it would be. It takes up as much room as my regular coffee maker but it is shorter. It has a nice look to it. One thing that I loved right off the bat is that it filters the water that it uses. This is a huge plus for me. I live by the lake and for some reason the water tends to taste like a lake to me. It could be in my head….most likely is, but anyhow…filters are great!
They sent me all sorts of awesome T DISCS to try it out. There was even Hot Chocolate for the kiddos and Chai Tea latte. Morgan is a huge fan of Chai Tea and she loved it! The little ones stuck with the Hot Chocolate and thought it was so neat to watch the machine run and they loved the steam that would come out when it made the milk.
I devoured every kind of coffee they sent! There was Starbucks and Gevalia! The cappuccino’s were my favorite of what I received with the machine. I have since went and bought several more from the grocery store. The only place I have found them in store is at Walmart. They carry the Starbucks and Maxwell House brand T DISCS.
My favorite out of everything I have tried is the Maxwell House Latte. It steams the milk first, then it brews the Espresso shot. What I have been doing is adding Caramel Sauce to the bottom of my coffee cup, then allowing the steamed milk to brew over it. The last step is the espresso. In just a few minutes I have my own Caramel Macchiato. This my friends is what it is all about! You could even go a step farther and poor it over ice for your own fancy schmancy iced Caramel Macchiato!
I have read some other reviews where they mentioned that the T DISCS were pricey. I’m just the opposite. I compare the cost to what I would spend in a coffee shop and the difference is significant. If I want a regular coffee then I can brew it old school, but for a fancy drink the price is great! You can get a package of T DISCS at Walmart for about $6.00. One Venti sized drink at Starbucks is pushing $5.00. Do the math and I am sure you will agree!
I am definitely in coffee Heaven over here and would love for you to join me!
I received the Tassimo as well as some samples of T Discs to use with it for my review. I was not compensated in any other way for my post. All opinions are 100% mine. I am just one individual as are you. My opinions may different from yours, but alas…they are my opinions. While I think most people will agree with my opinions because I am awesome…I just can not guarantee that you will have the same results as I. Afterall, it ain’t easy being me.
