I Need to Buy a Second Camera

02.19.2012 by Girl on Fire // 13 Comments

The decisions making part of me is lost.  I need to buy another camera body.  I don’t just want it…I really NEED it.  So it is very justified.  It has to be a Nikon, all of my lenses are Nikon and I want to use what I have.  Lenses are not cheap at all.

So daily I go through the options and ask the advice of others.  I still haven’t made a decision yet.  Which is ok, I have time because I am still saving up.  I would like to get it sooner than later though.  Ugh, I hate making big purchases like this.  Hate it.

So far it is narrowed down to the Nikon D7000 or the trusty old Nikon D90.  I wish I could just get them both.  I only really need the body, not the lens.  As for lenses, my next purchase is going to be the Nikon 85mm .  So pricey, but so dreamy.  I love everything about it.

I wish I were rich…

This is from a recent shoot.  Congrats to this proud new mama!  First baby and she was over 9lbs!  Woohooo!

We have the D5000 and the D90 and love them both although our D5000 is going to be going to a new home soon since we don’t need two cameras that big and this momma wants a new smaller lighter camera.

I’m really thinking I’ll just save up for the D7000…maybe by the time I have the money they will stay in stock hahaha! But yes, I need more than one camera. Changing lenses while shooting is a big inconvenience.

I used to work in the camera department of Circuit City and Nikons were definitely the most recommended and least returned. The D90 is great, it was my favorite toy to play with at work!

I just saw the camera you want on sale at Fry’s for $399. My husband showed it to me because he knows I want one but we can’t afford it. He likes to be bitchy that way. He thinks it’s funny. One of these days, I’m going to kick him in the nuts for that one. LOL

Hmmm, must have been a different model. The D7000 is not in stock anywhere and both of these bodies are over $1000.

It was in today’s ads in the paper. Do you have a Fry’s out there? By the way, your burst media adds are seriously screwing with your site. I’m sending you a screenshot right now. 🙁

Maybe it’s just for us in SoCal and it’s an in-store promotion? Or maybe it’s a misprint. LOL

I’m thinking it’s for a different model. There is no way that the D90 or D7000 would be that price. I see the D3000 is about that price on the site though.

It said your model number in the ad, but again, that could be a misprint. Fry’s is famous for those.
