Reigniting Your Hunger To Learn

04.23.2018 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

As children, we daydream about the day that we can leave formal schooling behind and move forward in life. We dream about leaving the classroom and the rules and regulations of the teachers so that we can experience life in its fullest form. Many people would follow the words of Mark Twain when he said that he would ‘never let school interfere with his education’ and become students of life. The thing is, even if you hate school as a child, you get to a point in adulthood where learning is all you can think about, a hunger to learn.

hunger to learn

That doesn’t mean that you want to go back to a formal education setting and study all over again. Sometimes doing an adults driver’s ed course can be what you need to reignite that spark in your life. A lot of people go to school and college in the hope to have the horizons broadened and end up feeling like they haven’t had their expectations met. It’s important to feel inspired and motivated to learn, or nothing will ever sink in! With a few easy tricks, you can rekindle that flame inside that you have for learning.

Hunger To Learn

  • Finding a mentor can be a great start. Depending on what you would like to learn, you can find someone to learn from and emulate, which can make you feel inspired to listen. If you can see someone that you admire in a position that you would like to be in, you’re more likely to learn from them and do better.
  • Destress. Sometimes, the lack of motivation for learning can be very much affected by your environment around you. If you take the time alone to get out of your zone and really think about what you want while clearing your head, you can make stronger decisions about your learning and your future. Stress can cloud your mind and stagnate how you feel; don’t let stress get in the way of what you truly want.
  • Find The Alternative. Your school days may have been miserable, which can put you off learning at all. However, you don’t have to be sat in a school and learning. You could be out in the world and learning as you work. If you like to write, you can take your work with you anywhere and write from there. You see, if you change your environment, you can change how you want to learn and you become more open to going further with your education.
  • Crafts. Learning isn’t all formal and certified. Some learning comes with working with your hands as much as possible. Crafts of various subjects can help you to get where you want to go, and you can learn to knit, cook and draw socially or by yourself. By choosing to join craft classes, you can make great new friendships, giving you even more of a reason to return to classes.

Learning isn’t something that stops when you finish college. Adults learn continuously through life, it’s just up to you whether you want to learn something new right now or not.

Are You Prepared If You Ever Need A Criminal Attorney?

Most of us need legal help at some point in our lives, whether it be divorce or something more serious. It’s always a good idea to have a list of numbers to call in case of an emergency situation. I myself have never needed legal help, but after talking to a friend I realized how […]
