Howlers Peak Ropes Course! Conquering Fears, Building Confidence and Having Fun!

06.13.2017 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

Conquering fears, building confidence and having fun can all be done at Great Wolf Lodge.  Howlers Peak Ropes Course was a new attraction for us.  It wasn’t there the last time we visited Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas.  In fact, it was just added to the location 2 years ago.

Disclosure: I have been invited by Great Wolf Lodge for a Media Event.  All expenses paid, however, I’m an honest girl and all opinions are my own.

Howlers Peak Ropes Course is an add-on attraction to your stay.  It is SO worth it!  Now you do need to be at least 48 inches tall or be accompanied by an adult to participate on the main ropes course.  There is also a mini version of the ropes course as well for guests under 48 inches.  You do also need to bring shoes for climbing. The shoes must closed toe and closed heel with rubber soles. Athletic shoes are ideal. No flip-flops!  Safety first!!

So, I knew Lauren would do this because the kid has no fear.  She wants to go bungee jumping, and when I heard you can rappel (jump) off the high platform, I knew she would be all over this!  I have a video of this on Instagram, check it out…

Crazy brave kid!!!

I was worried how Emma would do, she tends to work herself up and get nervous about things.  I have to say I am so proud of her!!  She went to the highest obstacles and crossed the scariest parts!!  The only things she did not do were the zip line type areas or the rappelling.

My husband did the whole course with the girls as well, I made it over one obstacle and had to retreat. But I had said I would try it and I did, so I’m still proud of me. I had to retreat because of my legs and it gave me anxiety to think my legs would give out on me up there do to my RSD.  I literally made it maybe 8 feet into the course ha!

Current Pricing:

Single Climb: $4.99 Includes one climb/harness for guests under 48 inches on the ground level course.

Single Harness: $14.99 Includes a one time harness with unlimited climbs. Once the harness is removed the climbs are complete.

Unlimited: $19.99 Includes unlimited climbing for the duration of your stay.

My kids had a blast and would definitely want to do it again!  I wish you could go there and just pay to do this whenever you wanted.
