So you came up with an awesome business idea, picked out a name, got funding and you’re ready to roll! Right? Well, what about exposure? How will people know that your super awesome business exists?
I think people often overlook this step in building a business and it is definitely an important step to be successful! Finding customers and building clientele even sounds boring!
Well, the cool thing is that you can hire people to do it for you or even teach you how to do it! There are online ads, billboards, and so many more options.
It’s probably a good idea to figure out exactly how big you want your business to grow and keep that in mind when advertising.
If you have a small in-home dog treat business, you’re probably not going to want a billboard at this point in time. But if you are building a huge clothing company, you probably want to do more than just post on Facebook.
It is important to figure out what exactly you need before potentially wasting money to get nothing in return. I suggest doing your own research and perhaps consult a professional as well.
If you decide to consult a professional I highly recommend choosing an established PR company. You can read more on why startups need a pr strategy here. With all the stress of starting a new business, sometimes it can take a load of stress off by delegating some tasks to someone more knowledgeable than yourself.
I don’t know much about advertising or PR, so I have no problem giving that task to someone else!

You want the business that you put so much of your time and energy in to be successful! You had a great idea and you need to remind yourself that if you put in the work and get the help you need that it will flourish! I think part of my struggle has always been trying to do everything by myself and it is exhausting!
I didn’t want to ask anyone for help, I wanted to do it 100 percent on my own and have no one to give credit to besides myself. I will tell you right now that got old real quick! I don’t know everything, nor do I want to! I had to make myself realize I can’t be an expert at everything my business needs to be successful, but I can hire those experts and make my life easier!
I guess if I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to take all the help you can get. Accept help with the kids so you can rest, accept the offer to have your photographer friend take photos for your website, and of course, anything else people offer! It is good to have pride in what you do, but you don’t have to do it all alone in order to have that pride! Have a little faith in yourself and you are going to do amazing things!
