We all know that eating out and picking up lattes on a daily basis, can seriously add up. But exactly how much money can you really save, just by packing your lunch?

With the Coronavirus pandemic, many people have been laid-off or temporarily out of work. Even if you have been able to work through all of this, it may have given you a little push to seriously look into creating an emergency savings fund.
Yes… I know that is oh so convenient to grab a cheeseburger from your favorite fast-food chain and scarf it down on your lunch break. But imagine how much better you and your wallet will feel if that daily expense disappears!?

Packing lunch doesn’t have to be boring either! Pinterest is full of so many lunch and snack ideas; from yummy salads to hearty pasta! The next excuse is usually “Well I don’t have time for that”, meal-prepping is the answer!
At first, meal-prepping can be lengthy and tiring, but I promise after about two weeks you will have your meal-prep day down to a science! About two hours of cooking and packing; and you’re done for the week! No more greasy burgers and unnecessary expenses!

One of my go to’s is a salad in a mason jar! They are so adorable and portable! Just grab yourself a mason jar and all of your favorite salad ingredients such as lettuce, tomato, feta and etc. Pour your favorite dressing in the bottom of the jar and then layer your ingredients, save the lettuce last so it doesn’t get soggy though. When you’re ready for lunch, give your jar a good shake and eat it right out of the jar! It is so yummy!
I really wasn’t a fan of skipping my daily takeout until I found this calculator that helped me see just how much money I’m wasting on fast-food! That number was pretty scary y’all! I will be saving almost three THOUSAND dollars a year! Just from skipping a cheeseburger that makes me feel sluggish anyways! Skip the latte as well and that almost doubles my savings!
It’s so simple too! All you do is look at about how much it costs per day to bring lunch from home, how much you spend daily on takeout/fast-food or coffee, plug those numbers in, and WALLAH! It tells you how much you can save JUST from not eating fast-food!
