How Android Helps Me Through the Day

09.01.2011 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

So we are all practically addicted to our cell phones these days. I literally can’t leave the house without mine, and when I do, I feel as though I have left something incredibly important. It’s like that lingering feeling you sometimes get when you think you’ve left the garage door up or the coffee pot on.

However, being so addicted to my cell phone isn’t necessarily a bad thing. With my Samsung Exhibit 4G Android Phone I have access to a variety of apps that actually help me organize and plan my day. A few of my favorite apps include:

Out of Milk

With the Out of Milk app, I no longer have to worry about leaving my grocery list at home. I am able to list everything I need at the store as I remember it throughout the day, and then always have that list without me. Not only am I able to remember everything I need at the store, but since my phone always goes with me, I always get everything I need to.

ShopSavvy

I hate paying retail. Even moreso, I hate paying for something at one cost only to see it $5 cheaper elsewhere. With ShopSavvy, I can scan the barcode of a wanted or needed item to make sure that I am about to purchase it at the lowest price possible. If I find that Wal-Mart is offering it for a lower price, then I’ll save myself a couple bucks and head on over.

Epicurious

I have a hard time coming up with new meals for my family that I know everyone will love. It’s hard eating the same thing day in and day out, but it can be just as difficult to come up with new and fresh recipes. That’s were Epicurious comes in. I can browse a variety of new recipes and figure out what to make for dinner while waiting to pick my kids up from school or during practice.

Calorie Counter

This may sound like a strange app to have in my fav box, but it is a lifesaver. Eating healthy or staying within your daily calorie allotment is no easy task – especially when you have a busy schedule. So I use Calorie Counter to make sure that I am not over eating so I don’t have to worry about putting on 10 pounds I don’t need.

Cozi Family Organizer

Trying to remember who has what and when they have it is a nightmare sometimes. You can easily double book or find out that you missed someone’s practice. Even worse, you can forget that you were supposed to drop or pick someone up. With Cozi Family Organizer, I can keep track of everyone’s schedule in the palm of my hand, making sure that I am ready and on time for whatever the week has planned.

Life is hectic, but my smart phone definitely makes keeping tabs on it easier. No wonder I feel lost when I leave home without it. It literally keeps my entire life together.
