Help Support Pediatric Cancer Research!

11.27.2009 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

You want to help right?  Well, th holiday_card e Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation has launched the 2009 Holiday Card Program.  All proceeds from the holiday card sales directly benefit pediatric cancer research.  They are now available on the PCRF website just click on “2009 Holiday Cards”.

All of the cards are designed by young oncology patients! I looked at all of the available designs and they are all so cute and creative.  Bright happy images!   It is awesome that little people can have such a bright outlook onlife, even though they are going through something so difficult!

Last year, the organization sold approximately 350,000 cards. This year, the goal is 500,000. Eighty percent of every dollar goes directly to research that leads to medically sound treatment protocols for childhood cancers. Since PCRF’s inception in 1982, the organization has raised over $22 million in funding for research.

The survival rate of children with pediatric cancer is increasing, but the number of children diagnosed continues to grow about 10% each year. Pediatric cancer is the #1 disease killer of children today!
