Having A Dedicated Niche Is So Important To Blogging These Days!

11.16.2020 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

You know, I’ve been at this whole blogging thing for a very long time! Like 17 years or so now! I started way back when it was very generic. Blogs didn’t look like websites back then, they were more like online diaries. Today they are elegant and have a dedicated niche.

My how things have changed! In my years as a blogger I have been able to experience some of the coolest things, all way helping add to our family income.

It’s Been Fun!

I’ve been on trips all over the United States, including several Red Carpet events, cooked in brand owned kitchens. I’ve been able to be a brand ambassador for many companies and so much more!

It’s been an amazing journey. Now I may not blog over here as much as I used to about my personal life, but I have expanded so far beyond that! I have been writing for other blogs as a staff writer and it has been so awesome!

Things are constantly changing in the world of blogging. There are so many more bloggers now than when I first started. So many of them that are so great at all aspects of blogging and the social media that goes along with it.

There is always something to learn and always places to grow! In fact, I’m thinking about starting over with my own blog. Start from scratch and use things I have been learning to make it bigger and better than ever!

niche

This mama has big dreams and goals to hit! Right now I am so thankful for being able to write and blog as a main source of income throughout this pandemic. Being able to work from anywhere there is an internet or wifi connection is so freeing! I think I want to hone in and be more dedicated to a certain topic. I’ve always kind of been all over the place with what I write about.

A Defined Niche Is Imporant

I love how Jessica Strange took her love of mountain biking and became an influencer! How amazing is it to take something you love and turn your passion into your job?!!

niche

Defining my niche has always been tough for me. But as I get older and wiser, I am learning just what things I love most. A defined niche is important if you want to be an influencer that gets chosen by big brands! You don’t even need to be huge on social media to become an influencer. We all start somewhere and microinfluencers are important to brands as well!

niche

The biggest thing in todays world of blogging is definitely having a niche to stick with. Scatterbrained people like me who call their blogs “eclectic” (totally me), don’t really get the big partnerships these days. Defintely check out the links I included in this post and learn how you can start defining it all. Make a list of the things you love and enjoy and work from that on figuring out where you fit best.

There is room for all of us! Just take your time and be dedicated! There is a lot of work involved in building a blog and your social media channels. Shoot, like I said… 17 years and still going and my blog has fallen so far into a mess ha! It’s totally time to start fresh and dedicated and get to work on my dreams!
