Get In The Halloween Spirit This Fall With Activities The Whole Family Will Love!

Halloween is only a few short weeks away. So many moms’ out there will be having a bit of a panic about how to celebrate the holiday. As Fall has officially started it’s the perfect time to send out Hallmark Halloween cards, and do some Halloween inspired activities that the whole family can get involved in. Especially as the weather can either be great or particularly rubbish at this time of year. Halloween isn’t a holiday that everyone embraces. I can understand that. Ghosts and ghouls aren’t for everyone. But controlling the situation and making it fun that the whole family can be part of is a great way to celebrate the holiday. Without doing the normal mundane things. With that in mind, I thought it would be a great idea to share with you some inspired ideas. I hope you have fun with them.

Creating a Halloween costume from scratch may fill you with dread. Not everyone is a whizz at the sewing machine or has fantastic creative ideas for amazing costumes. But, we live in the modern age where the internet is rife with inspiration on websites like Pinterest.com. Often with a step by step guide on how to create those costumes. So there is no excuse. Consider throwing a Halloween party

If you don’t like the idea of leaving your home on Halloween then why not throw a party instead? This is then celebrating the holiday completely on your terms. You could make it child-friendly or if you prefer to make it a real adult affair where you get to celebrate in style. There are so many things you could do. Of course, decorating your home and getting dressed up is a must. But think of the options when it comes to food and drink. This is a creative person’s ideal extravaganza.

Decorate the house with Fall and Halloween inspired items

If you don’t want to go all the way with throwing a party, then don’t let that stop you from decorating your home. It’s still a great way to celebrate and talk to your children about the holiday and fall. You could decorate your homes with pumpkin carvings, for example. There are some great tutorials online that will guide you on the best way to do it. You could also consider decorating your home with Halloween inspired bunting or even some arts and crafts.

Bake up some treats with a Halloween theme

A great family activity is baking. So why not use the Halloween inspired idea and create some perfect sweet and savory treats in the kitchen? From pumpkin Rice Krispie cakes to ghostly biscuits. There is something to suit all tastes. Plus children love an excuse to get their hands dirty in the kitchen. You could stick with something traditional and create Halloween cupcakes with tasty marshmallow fondant. There are some fabulous tips on websites like cakejournal.com. Pumpkins are in season at this time of the year so you may want to take advantage of this ingredient and create things like pumpkin pies or soups. Perfect for the colder weather ahead.

Go trick or treating with local neighbors and friends

Trick or treating isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, I admit. It may often leave you with disgruntled neighbors and a huge candy rush from the kids. But it doesn’t have to be this way. If you organized the trick or treating, then you could have a pleasant evening all round. Get together with a few neighbors in similar situations to you and decide on a system. You could then post a little note through every door you had planned to knock on a few days in advance. Ask them to politely display a token, which will be included with the note. This could be a balloon or even a piece of ribbon. Ask them to place it somewhere it can be seen. Maybe on the door or gate. That way you know that they are happy for you to knock on their door. Then you simply ignore the houses that have decided to not take part. The children can all come together at the end and share their treats amongst each other. Happy parents, neighbors and children all in one fail swoop.

I hope this has inspired you to have some fun this Halloween.
