I’m pretty sure I have posted some photos of the farm critters now, but how did I get all of those farm critters over here? Well, with the 2014 GMC Sierra! Now, we have an old GMC Sierra, it is my husbands truck and we like it a lot. But the 2014 was like a luxury vehicle to us! Wow! A truck with a back up camera? This is like something from my dreams! I was lucky enough to have the trucks for a week and I made it work! I planned all of our critter fetching for while we had it!
First thing we did was tear down a chicken coop and load it up in the roomy bed! We used all of that material to build our chicken area as well as the pens for the goats! It took us a few trips to get everything, but not as many as it would have without the truck.
Then we drove almost all they way to Oklahoma to fetch the goats! This was a long drive and I was so impressed at the comfort of riding in the truck! Not too mention the great gas mileage! So thankful for the GPS! I was turning on some backwoods country roads and this kept us safe and headed in the right direction!
Our next task was to get some of our chickens. Again, a trip out to the country! This stop brought the chicken farmer out to admire the truck for himself! Then from there we took another trip for more chickens! Then a few trips to the farm store were in order! We loaded up with hay, straw, chicken feed, goat feed and dog food!
This was all done in the GMC Sierra! All of the kids came along for the ride! It is so roomy that there was no complaining! I can not believe how much more room there is in this model than ours!
I would LOVE to own this truck! Definitely a truck for a mini farming mama! Now, the husband prefers his old sierra. He didn’t much care for the low clearance on the truck. He didn’t understand why it had all of that when it is a 4WD truck. Well, I’m not planning on 4 wheeling, so it doesn’t bother me. This is the same point that my new friend the chicken farmer had as well. Everything else though was loved by everyone!
I have to mention some of the special features on it as well. If you cross a solid line, the seat will vibrate! LOVE THAT! It also was well stocked with USB ports, lighter and even a household plug outlet!
Did I mention this was the Texas edition?
Did I mention how dirty I got this truck? Oops!
It totally has a sun roof too! The starting MSRP1:$26,075. EPA-estimated 16 MPG City and 23 MPG highway(2WD).
I drove the GMC Sierra for a week, no monetary compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
