Girls Fashion Trends For 2018

05.22.2018 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

Buying children’s clothes is actually much more fun than buying clothes for yourself. It is all so cute and never gets tiring. Those little nice packages with vibrant prints and fresh colors never get boring.

Girls Fashion Trends

The best summer fashion trends belong to our little princesses. Although she may be pretty in pink and all things girly, the sporty look is absolutely dominant for young girls this summer. An eclectic mix of colorful summer jackets, swimwear, trendy dresses, shoes, thin tracksuits and luxurious jersey sweaters was seen in almost every collection. Abstract and modern motifs, vintage jeans with frayed hem, and broken knees, along with the artistic and vibrant use of color were additional features in most of the summer collections. Your girls can look modern yet creative in their own unique style. Certainly, to see those little sprouts running tightly in colored cardigans, pants and skirts is so much fun!

Sporty Look

The first in the list of children’s fashion trends is one that is easy and carefree for all young girls this summer: the sport look! This is a popular trend that comes with a retro 90s vibe that is culminating. Trendy sweatpants, tough training jacket and jersey sweaters with nice bright, athletic shades can give any child an edgy, sporty, nonchalant style whilst keeping up with the gender neutral trend. Children also love comfy clothes, so it will be a favorite for many mothers. Your little girls can be dressed in hip tracksuit pants with floral prints. You can also throw in a training jacket that can easily pull over the tracksuit when it’s colder.

Stripes

Stripes are almost inseparable from our fashion image. You can see them in all sorts of formats, from a thin pinstripe to thick beams. Even the smallest of us can go through life again in the coming season because they are seen in every new collection year after year.

Exotic Prints

An inspiration for girls clothing also comes from the discoveries that many designers find on their travels. This summer we find many prints and embroideries from different countries and cultures. Tropical prints also belong to a good summer vibe! This not includes palm leaves, flamingos, birds of paradise and orchids, but also animals and insect prints. Lots of green with bright pink color spills are also present.

Sailor Style

Yes, this is the all-time favorite style for fashion kids, which we see again in many varieties this season. The nautical sailor look is a real classic that no parent gets tired of. Blue is beautiful, and stripes are neat, casual, but also sporty. And it all combines so easily with each other.

Floral Prints

The botanical trend has also found its way to children’s clothing. With super detailed tropical prints and many green colors. It’s a jungle out there. Japanese botanical prints are also hot, and in some collections, we even see kimono prints. Cool jackets with a Japanese bird of paradise on the back can be worn during the colder days of summer and can even be used as a jacket during the autumn months.

Fun Animal Prints

Not completely new, but the animals and figures prints are here again. In terms of styles, you see lots of panther prints – you can also see garments that consist entirely of leopard or tiger prints, along with cheerful typical summer prints such as ice cream, rainbow and jungle animals. Of course, there are also many monochrome collections with tough and funny texts on it, which provides enough fun for everyone! Your girls can get the tough look with cute animal prints on their clothes.

Frills

Another look that has been seen in previous seasonal collections are frills. These are those nice rushes on, for example, the front or the sleeves. It immediately gives a playful and girlish look. On sleeves, dresses, and tops, it promises to be a true party. You can combine these girly ruffles and frills with nice basic shades or with colorful prints. Wear it subtly or just into the max. Mix and match this season, it’s all possible.

Metallics

We are still not finished with shiny children’s clothes as metallic colors are especially popular this summer. Gold, silver and other metallics mix perfectly with blue, different shades of white or olive green and give the clothes a happy bling. We see brightly coated prints, shimmering (reversed) sequins and metallic trousers, skirts and lots of shiny training jackets.

Pastels

Especially for girls, we see a lot of pastel colors in the coming season. A lot of light blues and powder pinks. You can combine all those tones with each other for a sweet outfit, and boys can, of course, also participate.

Patches

Make your own clothes just a bit more personal and decorate with patches. Patches are those embroidered images that you can iron or sew on your clothes. The kids can also participate in this funny trend, so let your creative hands flutter.

Colorful Dresses & Skirts

Skirts and dresses fall on or over the knee this summer. Cute little girls dresses come in many different styles and colors this summer, both suitable for formal and informal occasions. The nice rushes on the sleeves make it more than just a long sweater and really give it a girly look.

Little girls skirts have also become very creative. Sometimes one side is longer than the other or the skirt has a striking split. Skirts can be combined with a variation motif tops that can create a different look each time, along with a pair of cool sneakers or girly sandals to complete the look.

Embroidery

Another corny trend where the dust has been blown is embroidery on clothing. Vintage-like romantic patterns on a dress, skirt or sweatshirt have made a comeback. You can also see them in a more subtle form on the clothes, such as on the chest pocket of a blouse, on the back of a jacket or with the pocket of jeans. It gives your little girls garment a slightly more luxurious look than a print and is a nice twist.
