Did you make it over to see the Genghis Khan exhibit at the Irving Arts Center yet?  If not, you still have time!  This is a totally cool thing to take your family to!  They’ll be having fun without even realizing how educational it is!  An easy lesson in history!

I want to fill you in on some cool event information!

On Monday August 15th and Monday Sept. 19th you can save some money because everyone can get in at the kids price!

On Saturday August 20th and Saturday September 24th they are having a Trebuchet Competition from 10 AM to Noon!  Build a model trebuchet using plastic blocks and compete for fun prizes in a distance shooting match. The entry deadline for the August competition is July 29 and the September competition is September 2.  Find more information on the events page.

Saturday August 13th, Saturday September 10th and Saturday September 24th are Family KhanDays from 2-4 PM. Create Mongolian-themed art projects to share with friends and family. Suitable for children of all ages. All supplies provided. Family KhanDays activities are free, admission to the exhibition requires a seperate ticket.

They have so much going on that you must go check it all out on the Irving Arts Center Events Page.  I did a whole post about the educational activities as well.

More than 200 artifacts including gold jewelry, weaponry, silk robes, currency, tomb treasures, a mummy and more are displayed alongside video-screens, handicraft and weaponry activity stations and role-playing kiosks to create an educational and historical experience for visitors of all ages.
