What you’ll need:
- deck of cards
- chips
- a table with enough seats
- rulebook for your chosen game
There are several types of poker that you and your friends can play. Texas Holdem has become an extremely popular poker game over the last couple of decades. In Holdem, each player gets to cards. Another seven cards are dealt face-down on the table. These are community cards that get turned over after rounds of betting.
You can add excitement by playing “no limit” games. This lets players go all-in with their chips. This type of play can create a lot of bluffs, but it’s a nerve-wracking approach that a lot of people enjoy.

What you’ll need:
- a roulette wheel
- a small ball
- board of numbers
- chips for betting
If you don’t want to spend money on a roulette wheel, then you can always use your computer to play Luxury Casino roulette. It does a good job imitating reality so everyone gets a fair chance to win.
Roulette is one of those games that anyone can play. It’s predominately based on luck, so you don’t have to think about strategy. Everyone has an equal chance of winning or losing, making it excellent for gatherings where some people don’t know much about casino games.
Blackjack
You might also know this game as “21.” The object of the game is to get a total of 21 points, or as close to 21 as possible. The person who comes closest wins the game.
What you’ll need:
- at least one deck of cards
- rulebook
- chips
In Blackjack, each player gets dealt two cards, one face-down and the other face-up. Players then have a chance to take extra cards (all face-up). Any players who goes over 21 “busts” and is out of the game.
Craps
What you’ll need:
- a craps felt
- chips for betting
- two dice
Alternatively, you can play what’s commonly known as “street craps.” For that, you just need two dice and a wad of dollar bills.
Craps can seem complicated at first, but that’s only because so much happens at once. You can simplify the game at game to slow down play and let people decide how they want to place bets.
Most betting occurs around a few simple rules. If the shooter throws a 7 or 11 on the first throw, then it’s an automatic win and the shooter continues. Any number thrown after the 7 is called the “point.” The shooter keeps throwing until he gets the point again or gets a 7, which ends the turn. If the shooter gets a 2, 3, or 12 on the first throw, then it’s a loss and the end of his turn.
What other casino games would you have at your party?
