Fun Things You’ll Want To Do With Your Kids This Summer
The summer is coming, and the children of the world can’t wait to be out of school for a couple of months. But all the parents in the world are probably wondering what on earth they’re going to do to keep the little darlings happily entertained. When camp just isn’t an option or doesn’t last long enough, there are always other activities to enjoy. All you need is a little energy and motivation to get through it!
A road trip with your kids may not seem like a fun idea at first. But careful planning and a little negotiation can make it extra special. Don’t be too keen to pick a direct route to your destination. Pick out lots of different attractions and activities you can do along the way. So you double your mileage. But you’ll easily quadruple the number of fun things you can do together. Plan for something new every couple of hours and that should keep even the youngest of kids happy.
You might be heading toward a really fun theme park, or that might be you midway point to another destination. During the summer there are always great theme park deals you can pick up. Most theme parks are now so big with such huge rides you could easily spend the whole day there. It’s up to you how long you stay for. Consider some accommodation while you’re there so you can enjoy it for longer.
Of course, you don’t have to travel far from home to enjoy the good weather. Why not get out on your bikes and enjoy a day out with a picnic? You might ride through the parks, or along a woodland path. Maybe the coast has a great cycle route and some sandy beach for a picnic? If you have a rack for your car, you could drive the bikes somewhere scenic and then enjoy a quiet ride somewhere you haven’t been before.
There are plenty of backyard activities you can all enjoy together too. Why not invest in a trampoline? It’s great for keeping the kids active. You may find their social circle expands with the neighborhood kids wanting a go too. Best of all, they make great dens, and somewhere to chill out with a book. Paddling pools are ideal for keeping cool on a really hot day. And there is plenty of advantages to getting your kids more confident around the water too.
Baking and cooking are really good rainy day activities to enjoy with your kids. Even the tiniest tots love to pour in ingredients and stir the mixture. There are so many fun recipes you can try out. Many kids recipes have only a few ingredients, and they’ll be things you already have in your cupboards. None of it takes long to prepare, but be aware that children love to take their time getting messy! It’s good fun and can easily keep them occupied for an hour.
The summer is a wonderful time of year for spending quality time with your kids. If you’re hoping to make some lasting memories for you and your children, this could be the summer to do it. Enjoy.

You seem like such a great mother to spend so much time with your children. My son just graduated recently and I really miss these precious moments I had with him when he was their age. Cherish them! 🙂
