I decided to do something fun and different with the girls… fun history! I purchased The Little House Cookbook: Frontier Foods from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Classic Stories to use. It just arrived the other day and I am anxious to get them started! I will also be getting The Complete Little House Nine-Book Set. Normally I would just do the library, but I don’t want to feel rushed since we will be using this as a major part of school.
As I simplify life, this just seems to fit right in. We want to get back to basics in a lot of areas, so isn’t this just perfect? I also plan on getting the My Little House Crafts Book: 18 Projects from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s. So not only will be covering history, but home economics, life skills, art and much more!
Homeschool does not have to be hard. Just use life and make it fun. Your children are always learning, just give them the tools they need and let them go.
How do you make history fun for your kids?
