Finding Shoes for Your Child

07.24.2014 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

Most parents know that their children are going to outgrow their shoes quickly. This means that they need affordable footwear options that their children will enjoy and will fit for as long as possible. If parents have nieces or nephews that are close to the same age as their own children, those shoes could possibly be passed down when their kids have outgrown them.

How Often Do Kids Need New Shoes?

A child may need a new pair of shoes at least once a year due to rapid growth. In some cases, a child may outgrow his or her shoes even faster than that. To tell if a shoe is too tight on a child’s foot, you can squeeze the child’s toe to see how far it goes into the shoe. If there is room between the child’s toes and the front of the shoe, it is not too small for the child.

Always Have Kids Try on Shoes

While it isn’t a bad idea to buy shoes online when you can find kids shoes for sale, you should have your child try on at least one pair of shoes prior to ordering to verify their shoe size. The last thing that you want to do is to get a pair of shoes that your child cannot wear. Even if you can return it, it is more time that your child is going to be without something suitable to put on his or her feet.

Kids Like Stylish Sneakers

It is important that a child gets a pair of sneakers that looks good and is fun to wear. While you don’t want your child to run wild while in public, shoes that light up or have a wheel in them to allow the child to skate can make it easier for them to stay entertained while shopping for groceries or running other errands.

Finding shoes that your child likes is not always easy. However, you can improve the odds that your child enjoys his or her footwear by making sure that they fit properly, look good and are fun to wear wherever you happen to go.
