Placing Your Trust in the Right Hands: 5 Guidelines for Finding a Jeweler You Can Count On

04.25.2019 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

Whether you’re buying a gift or a lifelong ring or piece of jewelry that has the ability to become extremely sentimental or may even be passed down through future generations of your family for years to come, or you’re selling an item you no longer want, you’re going to need to find a jeweler you can trust.

This means a company or individual who gives you a good price for your items, who won’t try and rip you off at every corner, and you know it is providing you with high-quality products and a great service that respects you as a customer. Is that too much to ask?

Jeweler

With this in mind, today we’re going to explore the five guidelines you should follow that are designed to help you find a jeweler that’s perfect for you and that you can count on, ensuring you have the best jeweler-related experience. Let’s go!

#1 – Make a List

The first thing you’re going to want to do is to make a list of all the brick-and-mortar and online jewelers you consider using. This way, you’ve got a complete list of all the potential places you want to go, and from the outset, you can start sorting through the companies you want to use, and those you don’t.

Leave room for notes on your sheet of paper, so if you go in somewhere and you don’t like it for whatever reason, you can make a note not to go back there, as well as listing prices so you can compare.

#2 – Read Customer Reviews

Of course, social proof is one of the best ways to find a reputable jeweler. Granted, it’s not always the best because online reviews can be faked or inaccurate, but the more reviews a company has, the more likely the reviews will be to point you in the right direction of what the service and experience are like.

After all, if a company has a ton of one-star reviews and a ton of five-star reviews and not many in the middle, you can tell the reviews are probably misleading, and should, therefore, be avoided.

#3 – Ask for Referrals

There’s no better way to find out which jeweler is trustworthy and will give you the best experience than asking your friends, family, colleagues, and other inner circles. Put a post out on social media, or simply ask in person to see which jeweler outlets they would prefer.

#4 – Don’t Restrict to Local Stores

While you may feel like you’ll get a better experience going into a local store where you can see who runs it and look at the products in person, this may not always be the case, and there are plenty of high-quality online jeweler outlets like Adina’s jewels, who can help.

Whichever you choose and for whatever purpose, such as choosing a wedding ring, or buying lab-grown diamond stud earrings, make sure you’re not restricting yourself to just online, or just physical stores. Branch out to truly find the best experience.

#5 – Use a Third-Party Service

Once you’ve purchased something, you can always go to a third-party service or lab who can test the stones to check their authenticity. This might be expensive, but if you’re serious about getting the best quality, this will be the most reliable option to make sure.

Summary

As you can see, there are plenty of ways you can be proactive in making sure you’re getting the best experience from a reputable jeweler. Have your wits about you and be aware to ensure you’re making the best decisions for you!
