Fast Lunches For Busy Kids #fruitshoot #fuelyourimagination

04.22.2014 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

Thank you to Fruit Shoot for sponsoring today’s post and encouraging me to share creative ways to prep fun lunches for my kids!

If you are here often, then you know that the girls are homeschooled.  Some people hear that and think we just sit around doing nothing all day.  The truth is, we are busy.  Like I can not even remember the last time I didn’t leave the house type of busy.  My girls need fast lunches!  But we have to keep it healthy!

I have found that the easiest way to feed my busy kids is to offer variety.  I really don’t have picky kids, they will eat meat, fruit, veggies…you name it and they will pretty much eat it, unless it was once alive and lived in a shell.  We don’t do that.

A typical lunch is either left overs from dinners or a variety plate.  A variety plate being tops on everyone’s list.  I have discovered kids will eat anything if it is cut up into easy pieces.  A typical variety plate will include a protein, fruits and vegetables.  I have found that my kids will eat any fruit or vegetable as long as it is raw.  So, in the plate shown below we have cut up green peppers, carrots, celery, broccoli and a left over cheddar sausage.  Add some ranch and everyone is happy.

No fruit on this one, but a Robinson’s Fruit Shoot fit the bill.  This one is orange and is a naturally flavored juice drink.  I love that it has a no-spill cap because my girls can take it with them on the go, it’s a perfect drink to go with the after roller derby practice snack while mommy practices.  It also contains no fructose corn syrup, which makes me feel better about them drinking it.  It contains real fruit juice and has no added sugar.  Hydration for my busy kids is very important.

You can find Fruit Shoot in these flavors: Orange, Apple, Berry Burst, and Strawberry/Raspberry.

With purchase of Fruit Shoot, there is the option for a free download of an Angry Birds game, perfect for parents to play with their kids.

How do you prepare a lunch that your kids will eat?  Be sure to visit the Robinsons Fruit Shoot Facebook page for more ideas!

We were able to find Robinson’s Fruit Shoot at our local Kroger store.  I wasn’t able to find it at our Family Dollar, but hope they start carrying it soon.  Other Retailers: Walmart, KMart, Kroger, Lowes Foods, Harris Teeter, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Spartan, Speedway, Meijer Gas, Sheetz, Kangaroo, WilcoHess, Handee Hugo, Family Fare, Giant Eagles, Marc’s, Dave’s, UDF, Traxx, Redi Mart, J Clarks
