Ever Have One Of Those Days?

03.05.2009 by Girl on Fire // 4 Comments

It’s one of those days.  My head feels like it is 50 times bigger than it is and it is taking everything  I have just to stay up straight.

I think living in a house full of girls can be hard sometimes.  Most of them are no where near puberty, but still….do they get hormonal so young? I am convinced that they do.  I swear everyone of us in my house has had one of those days today.  Maybe they are just like me, hard headed and don’t want to give in to anyone or anything.  I think that is it.  They are me 100%.

I long to be the end in an old Calgon commercial.  Relaxing and calm.  Maybe a night completely alone in a hotel with a hot tub, a television and a good book.  Yea, that would be the perfect break.  Just one night.

I’m sure a lot of you are like me and have not had a moment completely to yourself in years.  You know, like showering or bathing…alone.  Using the bathroom…alone.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my family to death, but am seriously needing a me moment.

Is that selfish?

I really don’t think so.  I think we all get to a point where we just need a moment. Heck, even an hour would be good.  I would love to just have an hour in my empty house where I did absolutely nothing. Of course I have had an hour alone, but I never end up doing nothing.  There is always some sort of something that has to be done. You know that you have to do it and that hour of alone is the perfect time to get it done.

I would love to hear what you do when you really just need a moment. I am open to suggestions.  Help a mama out!  I’m sure I am not the only mom in the world needing just a moment.

oh girl, tell me about it, even the 2 yo is hormonal I swear (infact she might be the worst, haha). I try to get a couple nights a week out to the gym. Burn and sweat some negative energy off and get away from the kids for an hour or so. I come home, they are excited to see me and I am glad I got a chance to get away. It feels good to walk in the door to “mommy mommy” like daddy gets to do everyday.

You know…the little ones did that today. I had my friend Misti watch them while I took Morgan to 4H and I was gone all day! When I got home I got a lot of hugs and I miss you’s!
