We all know that Christmas can be a thoroughly enjoyable time of the year. In addition to spending quality time with friends and family, it allows us to appreciate the good things in life. But at the same time, the festive season can be incredibly demanding and difficult. Along with shopping for presents, you have to clean the house, entertain the family and cook that all-important Christmas dinner. So with this in mind, here are some tips and tricks on how to avoid getting stressed at this time of year.

Shop early and online
Even though some might think it’s too soon to start planning and preparing for Christmas, the earlier you buy presents, the better. By getting the shopping done quickly, you won’t have it lingering at the back of your mind. But rather than joining other Christmas shoppers on the heaving main street, buy your presents online, as it’s much easier and probably cheaper.
Get the house in order
Despite the fact that your house will probably get a bit messy on the big day, don’t allow disarray into the home before then. Organization and order is sure to keep stress at bay. Treat yourself to a few early Christmas presents that will help you achieve this. With a cordless iron, you can plan and prepare your outfits and take the creases out of them in time for the holidays, while a handheld vacuum cleaner will come in handy when wrapping paper is all over the place.
Prepare and freeze food
For young kids, Christmas is all about what’s in their stockings. As you get older, however, the most important thing is your plate, which gets filled up time and time again. To avoid disappointing an expectant family of food lovers, prepare meals in advance and then freeze them. As well as relieve some pressure, this enables you to spend more time with loved ones too.
Stay positive and have fun
There are bound to be a few situations or scenarios out of your control during the festive season. But rather than getting worked up about them, stay positive and accept that certain mishaps are part of the fun. Christmas should be a time of merriment and joy, and it is. Sure there are a few burdens that come with it, but if you approach these with a smile, everything will be fine in the end.

So much of the stress comees from people thinking everything has to be perfect. With the influx of all the images it is hard not to become depressed and thinking your Christmas isnt as nice or as well put together. People remeember memories sometimes of mistakes and laugh. They rarely will remember the perfect Christmas. We arent Pinterest 🙂
Shopping early is so important to make sure that the packages arrive in time before Christmas if shipping standard. I like the idea of preparing the food ahead of time and freezing to take out all the stress of Christmas! But, if I do too much in one day, I will get a headache! I am making sure to slow down.
I do not let myself get all stressed out for the Holidays. I got a lot of Christmas gifts on Black Friday that I saved a lot of money on, and did most of my shopping then. I did get some good deals online on Amazon! Planning ahead and starting early really keeps the stress away!
