Electric Bikes, Do You Have One?

02.28.2013 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

When I first saw an electric bike at the store I was thinking “wow, how lazy is that?”   Seriously, that was my first thought.  But, now that I think about it, they are great for the right people.  Sure, most of us bike for exercise  but there are some that would love a bike simply for transportation that may not have the physical strength to bike.electric bike

An electric bike makes a great mode of transportation for people that need it.  I recently saw an elderly man on his electric bike.  If the bike had not been electric, he most likely would not have been able to go the distance that he could on the electric bike.

So now, I don’t see them as laziness, I see them as a tool.  Pretty similar to an old fashioned moped.  You know, the kind that had the peddles?

You can learn more about these electric bikes from Electric Bikes Specialist sites.  You can also peddle and ride these like a regular bike as well.  They have a lithium battery that can be top up charged anytime.  I still don’t think they are for me, but who knows what the future holds.  I may need to get one for myself one day.

Do you own an Electric Bike?  What made you choose and electric bike over a regular bike?
