Drug Addiction Treatment Centers

08.25.2014 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

I have known so many people that have gotten stuck on that terrible path.  Drug addiction isn’t always something that happens because someone is looking to have some fun.  I’ve written about this before, but it needs to be said again and again.  Drug addiction can happen to anyone.  Do you know the signs to watch for?  Trust me, it is not always easy and the addicts are not always the “party people”.

Addiction can happen to some of the best people.  The lady at church that bakes the best cakes…maybe she had horrible back pain.  Her dosage stopped working, so she took more and more until her body depended on it just to get though the day.  The thing is, these people feel like crap once they know they have a problem.  But they don’t always know they have a problem.  It’s up to the people that love them to watch for the signs.

Kicking a drug habit isn’t as simple as saying “Well, I’ll quit tomorrow”.  It isn’t easy.  Thankfully there are drug treatment centers that can help people get through this time.  There is hope, recovery is possible.  Advanced Health is a great resource of information.  I visited the site online while researching drug and alcohol treatment programs.  It’s a NJ alcohol rehab center that offers outpatient treatment programs.  I am sure there programs available in every city that can help those that are plagued with addiction.

Did you know that there are even special rehab programs for professional people?  This is fantastic, you can get help without feeling ashamed of your addiction.  Your privacy can be protected.  If you have a loved one that needs help, please tell them this.  Do your research first.   Have the answers before you approach them.  Make sure they know that you do have their best interest in your heart and that you care about them and their health.  I have known too many people that have lost the battle to their addictions and I want to make sure that I am always available to others that may feel lost.

My best friend of 26 years got hooked on prescription medications from have really bad RA, sadly her addiction went beyond just prescription drugs. Before all this she was not a drug user, went to church, took very good care of her children. I never thought I would see the day that this would happen to her. Many have tried to help and are there for her but she doesn’t think she has a problem. Very sad situation.
