DF MAVENS, Dairy-Free Ice Cream

06.19.2014 by Girl on Fire // 11 Comments

My mom has many allergies, one of those allergies is dairy.  There are also many nuts she can not have as well as gluten.  Eating can be hard and finding a tasty frozen treat to cool off with can be a true pain.  So I want to introduce you to DF Mavens.  DF Mavens is a dairy-free ice cream.  We were sent 4 flavors of DF Mavens to review.  No compensation was received and all opinions are our own.  2 of the samples were varieties that my mom could eat.  It comes in 3 main varieties, Soy, Coconut and Almond.  It’s great for those with allergies as well as vegans!

The 2 flavors that we tried were Del Lago Chocolate and Mint Almond Cookie.

My favorite of the two was definitely the Mint Almond Cookie.  SO GOOD.  The kids preferred the Del Lago Chocolate though.

The flavors that I sent to my mom to try were Alphonso Mango and Madagascar Vanilla Bean.  My Mother liked both, but she realllllly liked the Madagascar Vanilla Bean!  She said  that it is the first Coconut Milk ice cream she has ever had that the coconut did not overwhelm the flavor of the ice cream.  She said you actually know it is Vanilla Bean and that made her happy.

DF Mavens is currently available in the Dallas area at Market Street stores.  There happens to be one in Flower Mound, which is pretty close to us.  I’ll be sure to pick up some more!  I am looking forward to trying the Peanut Butter Fudge Mash and the Mocha Almond Chip.  All the yum…..

Remember…all products are dairy-free, gluten-free and do not contain preservatives or cholesterol!  They also have No Sugar Added options available.

Are there other retailers nationwide that these are available at? I’d love to have an alternative to regular ice cream. They look delicious.

Mint almond cookie sounds delicious! My youngest has a lactose sensitivity – so we have always gotten sorbets for her – I bet she would love this.

This looks yummy! I have had dairy free milk– like almond and coconut milk, but not ice cream. Little man had a milk allergy until about a year ago so this would have been helpful for him.
