Educational Fun with Cypher Kids Club! #CypherKidsClub #CBias

12.14.2012 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

Isn’t it great when you find something that your kids think is super fun and entertaining, and then as a bonus it’s educational?  Yes, I always feel like I have scored in a major way when this happens!  I don’t like my kids being sucked in to mindless time wasters.  I love them to exercise their brains, they are little sponges.

Cypher Kids Club is very cool!  They are interactive cards that work with apps on your devices!  We tried 3 different sets, which were: Animals, Numbers and Letters.

Cypher Kids

Each pack comes with interactive cards that work with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.  We used it with my iPad.  I have an iPod, but it is an older one that does not have a camera.

The cards are available online at BestBuy.com as well as at Target stores.  The corresponding apps are free to download on iTunes.

I think the cards would make a fantastic Christmas gift.  My kids are totally in to them.  They are very simple to use and my kids were pretty much able to figure it all out with out very much guidance from me.

You open the app and you use the camera to scan the card.  One the app recognizes the card being used, the screen comes to life with 3D animation!

See the card?  Look at the screen!  This one is about Monkeys.  The kids can move the iPad around and see the monkey from different angles in 3D and there are no 3D glasses needed!  It is full of facts and sounds and even a little bit of interaction, such as making the monkey jump.

The facts shown on the screen are also read to your child, which is helpful for your learning readers, and non readers.  Reading along with text is very helpful for kids learning to read.

The graphics are very vibrant and fun to watch!

Technology absolutely amazes me.  I think that the Cypher Kids Club cards and apps are great!  I feel good about my kids using them and I don’t feel like they are turning into zombie mush, but they are learning a lot from the cards and apps.

I am so happy that we were a part of the #CypherKidsClub campaign so that I could learn about this and share it with you!  They would be perfect stocking stuffers!
