Most of us need legal help at some point in our lives, whether it be divorce or something more serious. It’s always a good idea to have a list of numbers to call in case of an emergency situation.
I myself have never needed legal help, but after talking to a friend I realized how important it is to be prepared for legal situations to arise. Life can throw you huge curveballs when you least expect it to and being prepared can definitely take a little bit of the stress off of you when they do.

When you live a rather monotonous life like myself, you don’t really think about things like attorneys. I mean… why would I ever need one? I go to work, I go to school and I do mom things. I pay my bills on time, I don’t speed and I don’t participate in any illegal activity. So there’s no way I could possibly ever need a lawyer right? Wrong!
What happens if you come across one of those people who cause accidents on purpose in hopes of getting a big insurance payout? You know what I’m talking about, those people who cut in front of you and slam on their brakes in hopes of you rear-ending them. It’s so rude!
I had a lady throw her SUV into reverse at a red light and back into my tiny Civic. She said she didn’t see me and wanted to change lanes to get a coke from McDonald’s. She completely totaled my car! Thankfully she admitted it was her fault and her insurance paid for my car, but what if she had been one of those scammers!? I would have been screwed! Thankfully in my case, she was honest!
One situation I never thought of was having a medical attorney on speed-dial, honestly, I never knew what that was until reading about it in an article. Thankfully I have only had one major surgery and that was my cesarean when I had my son. If something would have gone wrong or the doctor made a mistake I would have had no idea what to do! After looking into it I will definitely be adding a medical attorney to my speed-dial list!
It’s also a good idea to have a good criminal attorney in your phone and no they aren’t just for criminals! They can help you in so many situations! From hit-and-runs to burglary, they have a pretty broad spectrum of cases they handle.

If I haven’t convinced you to add a few good lawyers to your phone book, then this article might! It lists 7 situations you need a lawyer and a few you don’t need one. Since becoming a mom I try to be prepared for any situation, this just wasn’t one I had thought about honestly! Now I feel prepared for any situation and it has taken so much stress off of me! I still plan on living my crime-free lifestyle and I hope you do as well!
