Community Service

06.02.2009 by Girl on Fire // 2 Comments

dscf4119Today Morgan and I volunteered at the Denton Community Food Center.  We had a great time and plan on going back whenever we can get away without the little ones.  The people there are so super nice!

The food center is located at: 109 W. Sycamore in Denton, TX.  They provide staple food supplies to families/individuals that are in an emergency situation.  The food center accepts donations of food and money.

Volunteers are always needed on a regular basis.  They are open Monday-Friday from 1-3 p.m.

Some of the volunteer tasks include:

  • screening families
  • filling orders
  • maintaining supplies
  • stocking shelves
  • keeping the food center in order. dscf4118

It’s nice to give back! Get in there and volunteer!  This will count towards her 4H community service and be added to the memory book we are working on now.

awesome!! We are currently looking for things we can do here during the summer.

It builds character in those that give of themselves.

I have a letter that I should have sent out a week ago (*don’t hit me*) for Morgan.
