Melissa & Doug Christmas Gift Ideas for Kids

10.24.2015 by Girl on Fire // 3 Comments

Are you looking for some Christmas gift ideas for kids?  Well, here are a few of my favorite items and guess what?  No batteries needed!  Did you know that the Melissa & Doug company began in the garage of Doug’s parents’ home? The business continues to grow thanks to the dedication of the company to bring quality safe learning toys to children.

These toys have been named on lists for best toys! The company produces more than 2,000 items for a wide range of children.

For kids who are 3 and older, the Melissa & Doug Car Carrier is a big hit.

car carrier
This is one of their older, but very popular toys that continues to land on bestselling lists. The toy truck has a ramp that can raise and lower which enables it to tow vehicles as a single or double ramp truck.

The truck and the cars are capable of rolling on pretty much any surface. The cars are designed to fit both with racetracks as well as train sets.

pounding bench
The Melissa & Doug Deluxe Pounding Bench is another popular toy that’s one of their older creations yet is still a bestselling item.

The toy is suitable for kids 2-6 years old. It includes the bench and the pegs for pounding. The pegs can’t be removed, so no worries about the pieces getting lost! The set includes the mallet. Kids can learn coordination as well as different colors with this toy.

Deluxe Magnetic Dress-up
Also still a bestselling hit is the Melissa & Doug Abby & Emma Deluxe Magnetic Dress-Up Set. This set features two wooden dolls, Abby and Emma. Each doll does come with a stand.

There are 56 clothing items that as your child rearranges the combinations can provide multiple outfits and hours of fun play. If you want to help your child learn the alphabet, a great way to do that is with the Melissa & Doug Magnetic Wooden Alphabet set that features 52 letters.

You get both the upper as well as the lower set for the alphabet. These letters are just the right size for small hands and can make learning words and reading fun. It’s a great set for kids ages 2 and up.

pull back vehicle

The latest offering from the toy company is the Melissa & Doug K’s Kids Pull-Back Vehicle Set. This is a soft set of vehicles that are perfect for kids 9 months to 3 years. Four vehicles come with the set: a police car, a school bus, a fire truck and a car.

Because they’re soft, they’re light enough for babies to lift and easy for any child to pull back, let go of and watch zip across the floor. The toys can help your child understand cause and effect, shapes, sizes and different colors.

I love Melissa and Doug products, though they tend to be so expensive… but you know what they say, you get what you pay for! You can really feel the quality in all of their toys.

My kids would love these products. I’ll show them before they decide that this is something they want for this Christmas.

Ok so I am really lagging this past week on my blogging. I had a big nasty computer crash. Not cool. My computer is about as saved as I can get it myself, I just messed with things and hoped for the best. I guess I did something somewhat right. Anyhow, I wanted to share […]
