Car Seats Sure Have Changed!

03.27.2013 by Girl on Fire // Leave a Comment

It’s been awhile since I have had to purchase a car seat.  The girls are growing up so fast and now I only have one that needs to be in a booster seat these days.  Car seats are important for the safety of our kids and the reason the designs are always changing is because they are always coming up with better ways to design them to make our children even safer.

Car seats expire.  If you have never purchased one, this is important to know!  It is also important to purchase your car seats new.  You need to be sure that they have never been in a car accident before.  This could compromise the car seat and the safety of your child could be in jeopardy.britax pinnicale 90

Britax is a well known brand of car seats.  Most likely you have heard of them before and they have some great car seats available!  Check out the Britax Pinnicale 90!  It is a harnessed booster car seat.  As you may have read, my oldest daughter and I were in a car accident the other day.  The airbags deployed and luckily we just suffered minor cuts and some pretty gnarly bruises.  The Britax Pinnacale 90 has side impact cushion technology. So what does that mean to you? There are air bags on the side of the car seat and they will absorb g-force in side impact crashes.  This really grabs my attention because it has been on my mind alot about what would have happened to my little girls had they been in the accident as well.  It also can work for a child up to 90 lbs!britax frontier 90

Another great car seat that caught my eye is the Britax Frontier 90.  Now this is another great harnessed booster car seat that can also work for a child up to 90 lbs.  One of the things I have always hated about car seats it trying to wiggle and reach my hand through to buckle it in.  Ugh, I don’t miss that.  Well, this car seat has the new ClickTight system.  You can actually raise the bottom of the seat up so that you can see what you are doing and actually reach it!

So if you are shopping for car seats…shop around!  Read reviews!  There are a lot of great new things out there!
