Bumkins Back To School Blog Tour

08.06.2009 by Girl on Fire // 3 Comments

B2S_200x200Bumkins is a brand I trust and have used a lot.  I used to just associate them with cloth diapers though.  I really had no clue that they had products for my children as they grew as well.

We recently were lucky enough to get to test out and review the Bumkins Waterproof Art Smock. The size I received is for ages 2-5 depending of course on your child.  Both of my little ones (ages 3 and 5) were able to wear the smock.  As soon as I opened the package I was pleasantly surprised by the look of the smock.  My stylin’ girls like pretty things and this was a very girlie print.  The art smocks we already owned were either just clear plastic with primary color prints of crayons, or white vinyl with the same ugly prints.  This was actually pretty!

DSCF4406As you can tell from looking at this photo of Emma, this is not your ordinary art smock!  Check out that print!  She wanted to wear it after she was finished painting as well because it was “pretty”.  She kept telling me she was cold and needed to wear it!

The smock is made from Bumkins’ own unique waterproof material. It is not plastic and stiff like our other smocks.  They are very lightweight and do not restrict the artistic movement of my wild artists!

Some features of the Bumkins Art Smocks are:

  • Ultra Durable
  • Wash N’ Wear
  • Stain Resistant
  • They have a Catch-all Pocket
  • Odor Resistant
  • Many Stylish Colorful Prints

Check out this photo of both Lauren and Emma painting. Lauren is wearing your typical art smock that you can pick up pretty much anywhere. It really doesn’t help protect clothing. I love that the Bumkins smock has sleeves. This is a huge selling point for me, especially because of the easy moving material it is made of.DSCF4405Emma is completely covered.  Imagine if it were fall or winter and Lauren had been wearing long sleeves.  The cuffs and sleeves would have been covered in paint.  I can promise you that when they were done they had paint all over the arms!  Lauren had to be washed up, but Emma only had to (unwillingly)remove the smock.

DSCF4413Emma’s favorite thing about the smock was the pocket on the front! She put bottles of paint, brushes and sometimes just her hands in those pockets.

The smock is easily cleaned with a damp cloth or machine wash cold, then hang dry.

Bumkin’s Art Smocks are regularly priced at $24.95 each but are on sale for $19.99 just in time for the new school year.

From now until September 1st you can get free UPS Ground Shipping on all orders over $35.00 with online discount code b2school09.

Bumkins will be giving away 5, $35.00, Gift certificates as a part of the Bumkins Back 2 School Blog Tour!  Bumkins will choose the five winners beginning Monday August 10th, giving away one gift certificate each day that week.
