Books for Girls about Puberty

Books for Girls about Puberty

My mom was always very open with me about life and part of it was by providing books for girls about puberty.  I remember one Christmas getting books about girl stuff and growing up.  These books helped me understand the changes that would take place and how I was made…you know…sex.  GASP…sex? Yes SEX.  God gave it to us.  It isn’t evil and our kids need to know about it.

The best person to tell them about it is YOU.  Do you really want someone else to take this on for you?  No, you want to make sure your kids get the right information and answers.  The books were pretty informative and gave me some info and answers I needed to know.  I passed those same books onto my oldest daughter when I seen the need to know.

Growing Up

The two books I had from my mom were:

  • “What’s Happening to Me?” A Guide to Puberty
  • Where Did I Come From?

Growing Up

Books about Puberty for Girls

When I had the talks with Morgan I added a great American Girl book about puberty book called The Care & Keeping of You.  They now have a second book called The Care & Keeping of You 2. I highly recommend all of these books.  The two my mom got me were aimed at boys and girls, but the American Girl book is for girls only.

If you are a mom and have some more book suggestions on this topic, please leave them in the comments!
