Morning came early again on Saturday! I really did not want to leave my wonderful room in our Global Resort home, the warmth….but we bundled up as much as we could and jumped into our rides and headed out to Boggy Creek Airboat Rides. My house was the first house to arrive and we prepared ourselves mentally for the freezing abuse that we were about to inflict on ourselves.
Let me tell you, Florida was freezing when I was down there! I went to Chicago directly after Florida and it was warmer in Chicago! I was not prepared for the cold weather blitz that we had during Brandcation.
Anyhow, the weather did not hinder us from following through. We are a tough bunch of women, which we proved previously while ziplining for the first time. Now I did not take my Nikon on the airboat rides, I was too nervous. I really thought we would get pretty wet on the airboats and I was totally wrong. There was no more wetness than on our fishing boat. I did take some shots with my Evo to share with you. I think considering they were taken with a cell phone, they turned out pretty good! I love my Evo and used it a ton on the trip! I still love my Nikon, but this phone is awesome for traveling!

So, when you first get there, you walk in through this awesome gift shop. They had some really cool stuff in there. Including huge alligators and wild boar hanging on the walls.
We walked out an met our guides. You know, I used to live in Florida and I guess I never met someone that was truly FROM Florida. Everyone has come from somewhere else, so imagine my surprise when I met some of the most country boys I had ever met. They had some strong southern accents. Born and raised in Florida. They were great!
They gave us ear protection since the boats are so loud. They also were kind enough to give us sleeping bags to cover up with since it was so cold. So here we are, a bunch of women huddled under sleeping bags trying to stay warm.
The ride was beautiful! We seen Bald Eagles, all sorts of birds, plants, trees covered in Spanish Moss and so much more. It was breathtaking!
The airboat skimmed over the surface of the water like it was ice (it felt like ice being so cold). We glided into turns, glided over vegetation. It was truly an awesome experience! Normally had the weather been cooperative we would have seen more wild life and even alligators. During the ride our guide pointed out a lot of things to us and gave us facts and history. The guides were very knowledgeable.
After the ride the adventure was not over! They let us get up close and personal with a small gator. I held an alligator! Granted his mouth was taped shut, but I still held it!
Boggy Creek Airboat rides is something I would definitely take my children to do! The staff was so friendly! My kids would have loved it!
