BioBands Really Work for Nausea

10.17.2013 by Girl on Fire // 4 Comments

A few days last week I was feeling pretty horrible.  I was hit by nausea so bad that I couldn’t even function.  I remembered that my BioBands package had arrived that day and I had not opened it yet.  I thought well, what the heck…perfect test right here.  After opening the package I pulled out a little bracelet band that had a velcro closure and a small bead inside.   I was seriously doubtful… Thankfully I was wrong in my doubts!  My nausea subsided tremendously!  I wouldn’t say it totally left the building, but I was able to function without feeling like I was going to lose it any second!  So how does it work you ask?  Acupressure!

The BioBands can be used for all of the following conditions!

  • Motion sickness when traveling by car, boat, plane and train
  • Morning sickness
  • Chemotherapy
  • Surgery anesthesia
  • Altitude sickness
  • Migraines
  • Amusement rides
  • Flu symptoms
  • Prescription drug related nausea
  • Any type of general nausea

how1This is great for me!  I hate to take meds unless absolutely necessary. So how does it work?  The BioBand has a bead sewn into a wristband that is positioned at a precise point on either wrist.   By tightening the band snugly around your wrist it applies a constant pressure to the P-6 pressure point located on the inner forearm just above the wrist.  By applying continuous acupressure to the P-6 acupressure point, it is known to relieve nausea and vomiting from motion sickness, morning sickness, cancer treatments, and surgery anesthesia.

  • Using an acupressure wristband interrupts the nervous system signals that bring about nausea symptoms in the body.
  • The continual pressure to the P-6 acupressure points causes the release of endorphins, neurotransmitters that act as a natural painkiller within the body.

Have you ever tried Acupressure?  Have you ever tried BioBands?  I think this is something to keep on hand!  I wish I would have had these when Morgan was little…she threw up every time we went anywhere in the car.  I wonder how it would have helped my Hyperemesis when I was pregnant?  I would love to hear your thoughts!  I love that there are no side effects to using this treatment!  No fear of overdosing either!

I received a sample of the product mentioned above to facilitate this review.  No compensation was received and all opinions are my own.

I get SOOO motion sick in a car or plane but when Dennis and I flew his little Cessna to Alaska I wore bands for the entire trip. Even on a cruise excursion! Never had a moment of motion sickness. These things work!!!!!

I get sick all the time; car, boats, etc. I have always been hesitant to try these. We go on a cruise in November, I may try them this time. I don’t know 🙂 We’ll see.

If I ever get pregnant again I’m going to use this. Cause I gained 30 lbs before the miscarriage because I felt horrible all day long, unless I was eating, so I was eating a lot. Ugh!
