Barista Prima Coffeehouse DECAF Italian Roast

03.26.2012 by Girl on Fire // 2 Comments

Remember me…the coffee junkie?  Well when I was asked to review the Barista Prima Coffeehouse DECAF Italian Roast I totally jumped on it saying YES YES YES….send it to me I love me some coffee!  Plus, I had been wanting to cut back a bit on the caffeine so getting to try a decaf was a plus.

Thing is…I didn’t know it was for the Keurig.  Maybe I should have looked it up, but I just assume it was good old fashioned brew yourself a pot coffee.  So before we go any farther…I do not own a Keurig.  When it arrived I was trying to figure out how I could still taste it and tell you what I thought.  So I figured I would just open up those little cups and dump them into my French Press.

Brilliant?  I thought so…

BUT

I couldn’t get the strength to taste right.  I like strong coffee so it was fine for me.  I really wish I could have tasted this the way it was intended to taste by brewing it in the Keurig.  If only I had a Keurig.

I still want to try it all proper like, so if your local and you have a Keurig…how about we have a cup together?  You want to hang out with me right?  Guess what…the Mount Sinai School in New York says, “the [decaf coffee] drink could improve the memory of people suffering from diseases of the brain or age-related forgetfulness, and may even prevent symptoms from appearing in the first place.”  I think that means me right?  Like totally written for me.  So maybe I need to get myself on this decaf stuff for sure.  It’s the taste of coffee that I crave.

All in all, I was happy with the flavor and really didn’t notice anything that would make me think it tasted like a decaf coffee.  Maybe if I get a chance to try it brewed int he Keurig I can update this post.  Until then…I’m off to make some coffee!

This is my favorite decaf for the Keurig, hands down! I can’t tell it’s decaf either. I enjoy a strong cup of joe and my coffee of choice is the Barista Prima French Roast…oh…my…gawsh!

I hope you get a Keurig soon. Have you seen the new Keurig Vue? My next purchase… 😉
