Barbie & The Diamond Castle

11.10.2008 by Girl on Fire // 1 Comment

My girls were so happy when we received the Barbie & The Diamond Castle DVD to review. We already had some of the other Barbie movies and the girls liked them. This one however, they absolutely loved. I can not even tell you how many times they have watched it. I know the first day they watched it as soon as it ended they begged to watch it again. They were singing and dancing around the room. The animation is done so well, and the soundtrack was enjoyable. I wasn’t cringing for it to be over as I am with some of the movies my kids like to watch again and again.

Liana and Alexa are two girls who share everything, including a love of singing. One day they meet an old woman and share what little food they have with her. In return the old woman lets them pick a “treasure” from her basket. They choose a tarnished old mirror. After taking it home and cleaning it up they realize this is no ordinary mirror. They meet Melody, a girl locked inside an enchanted mirror. Melody holds the secret key to the Diamond Castle. Alexa and Liana want to rescue their new friend, and so the adventure begins. Along the way they face challenges and learn about true friendship.

I really thought the story was good for our young girls. I am pretty choosy about what I allow them to watch. There are a lot of shows aimed at our children that show things I just do not agree with. This movie I am comfortable with completely.

You can find out more by visiting Everything Girl. There are activities, music, games, etc there for your child’s enjoyment.

Thank you MomCentral.com for allowing us the chance to review this great movie!

Thanks for the fabulous post! I am glad that you found the message appropriate for your girls since I feel the choices today are dwindling when it comes to appropriate viewing choices. Just wish Barbie had movies when I was growing up 🙂
