At this time I do not allow Morgan to have a facebook. There is just too much on there that is not appropriate, for instance the porn hackers that have been filling my stream with horrible nasty images. Besides that though…she just isn’t old enough in my opinion.
I see some people that let their 7 and 8 year old children have a facebook…wonder how they deal with porn being blasted at their children? I dunno, I’m not telling them how to parent…I just don’t get it.
Anyhow, I found this online and thought it was great! Apparently this boy had been pretending to be something that he is not and his father found out. What happened when he did can be seen below!
Way to go dad! You get an A+ in parenting from me!

That’s hilarious – my dad would have done the exact same thing if I had written something like that.
Oh I would totally do this if I caught my kids saying that crap!
LOL! That’s pure awesome! Way to go, Dad!
I agree! Sometimes this is the only thing that works on kids these days!
Not sure I would have posted the part about him being scared of the dark, but funny nonetheless.
I wonder why the dad wasn’t FB friends with his kid already. If he was he would have seen what his kid was posting a lot earlier. I do agree, though, that there are many kids of FB who are not even close to being ready for it! My SIL created a page for her son when he was 4… His only friends are family members, but that still doesn’t stop possible spamming.
What’s the harm in children seeing a nude body? Really? Or an act of fornication? They are completely natural and, obviously, the latter is essential for life. Do you think it will scar them, or that they’ll want to know more because they don’t know what it is or don’t understand it? Stop babying your kids, that’s what’s wrong with the world.
Seriously? You think it is ok for children to see porn? Most of the things done in pornography are not essential for life. Do you think Sodomy creates life?
I like my children to have morals. A realistic outlook on life, not indecency.
I never said there was anything wrong with them seeing a nude body, they have seen art that portrays nudes. Things that are tasteful.
What is wrong with the world is the lack of morals being instilled in our children.
I do not “baby” my children. I parent them. I happen to have children that are very mature and self sufficient in most ways, so do not even begin to judge me.
WOW really Brandon. Pedophile much? What is wrong with the world is that people don’t protect children enough from stuff that is inappropriate for them. Children grow up too fast as it is, they need to be children as long as they are supposed to be. Children don’t need the stresses of adult information. And protecting them from things that are inappropriate for their age is NOT babying them it is called parenting and what more parents need to do instead of trying to be their kid’s best friend. Kids get friends at school and at home they need a parent to teach them right from wrong.
What’s wrong with the world is that people like you have children and do not teach them any morals or values. They go out into the world thinking they are invisible and can do as they please with no consequences. It’s a harsh reality that many young people wake up and realize after it’s already too late. Have you watched any news lately? The rate of suicide, death and child abuse is quickly growing – especially among the younger generation. That’s the harm in letting our children grow up too quickly – they don’t have respect for anyone including themselves.
As if pornography is an accurate depiction of normal, healthy sex? Even if it were, kids don’t need to see it to learn that it can be an expression of love. In fact, 90% of popular pornography involves extreme acts of violence against women (check out “the price of pleasure” on Netflix). There are plenty of tasteful, accurate, and factual books for parents who don’t want to “baby” their children. Brandon, have you updated your sex offender registry this year? I’m sure your P.O. wants to know where you are.
Do you actually have children Brandon? I’m guessing no…because if you do and that is the attitude you have, then it is more likely YOURS are going to be the ones scarred for life, not Brandy’s. There is a huge difference between seeing a naked body and seeing porn. And ok sure, fornication is natural…FOR AN ADULT! Protecting children from things that are inappropriate and/or not at their level of development isn’t babying them, it is called being a responsible parent. Are children really going to be harmed from seeing those types of things…probably not significantly. But that in no way makes it acceptable. There is way too much in the way we live our lives now that makes children grow up way too quickly…I plan on letting my children BE children and will try to protect their innocence and teach them morals and respect for as long as I can. How sad for your children if you’re not willing to do the same…
Let’s start with the fact that you are suppose to be 18 years old to have a Facebook account. So parents allowing their children to lie about their age when filling out their online profile are only assisting them in not being honest and responsible. I see no reason whatsoever that a child under the age of 18 would need to have a Facebook account, and again I said “I see no reason …”.
It is a parents or in my case a grandparents obligation to protect their children and to teach them right from wrong. Its OUR obligation not the schools and surely not Facebook news feeds.
If some parents and grandparents would take a more active role in their childrens lives, instead of just allowing them to watch what they want or complete access to the internet without some type of parental control – then we would probably have more children with respect for not only the adults in their lives but also for themselves.
As for the children in my home, none of them will have a Facebook account until they are 18 and if they need to keep in contact with family and friends – Thank God we homeschool and they have been taught good penmanship.
What’s the harm in letting kids see an “act of fornication?” Pornography is not simply viewing an “act of fornication.” At best, pornography is an objectification of the people involved in the “act” and a de-valuing of the sexual act as an expression on love. At worst, pornography is a form of abuse (especially when minors are involved… it’s called rape) and can scar a person for life. How the media portrays relationships, especially the fake and fleeting relationships (if you can even call them relationships) portrayed in pornography, are infiltrating the minds and imaginations of our society. Why do you think that 10 year olds are having sex parties? Because they don’t think sex is special in any way. Because our society has taught them that everyone and anyone should be able to have sex any time they want, without consequences.
I agree with Brandy. When my children see naked bodies I want the images to be a celebration of the beauty and dignity of the human person. I do not want my children to learn that people are just objects that can be used for their own selfish gratification and then thrown away. That is what is wrong our society today.
No worries brandy… Brandon would probably come to my site and scoff that my 12 year old caught my baby! Just to start something!
Protecting children is not babying them. Shielding young children from things they don’t need to see is, as has been stated, called “PARENTING”… and, I’d add the word “Responsible”.
And I agree with Lisa – Brandon is going to start stuff just for the sake of ruffling feathers.
My dad would have done the same thing.
And everyone is just in awe that kids are having sex and babies so young. Why? It’s bound to happen with all these parents acting like friends and not getting control of their kids. I could’ve used more parenting growing up, but luckily I had the head to parent myself before things got way too out of hand. Not many people can do that. All the porn on Facebook is disgusting and it disgusts me that people would even find it funny.
Way to go Dad! And Brandon, for real???
Wow..and I thought it was just interesting what the dad did..who knew Brandon would come in and be a dumbbell.
Thumbs up Dad!
While I do agree porn and explicit images should be kept from children, I disagree that Facebook is necessarily the problem. I’ll admit I’m a college student, and don’t have any children, but I’ve yet to see anything you have described on any of my friends’ pages. I used that site all through high school (without ever lying about my age) to participate in online study groups, and keep up to date with family members who live out of state. Maybe I will feel differently when I have children, but I don’t see Facebook as being the evil site some seem to see it as.
Karissa,
You sound like a very mature girl. Using Facebook as a high school student is completely different than a 7 or 8 year old using Facebook. My oldest is 13. She does not have a Facebook account. There are things that are on the web that kids are just not ready for. Facebook is just one of those places. A highschool student is more capable of comprehending some of the things that may come through on the stream than I young child is.
I don’t hate Facebook! I use it daily 🙂 But I think there are much better social network choices for kids. One being YourSphere.
The kid is going to find porn eventually especially if its a guy. Secondly facebook doesn’t blast your kid with porn, that was one incident. For a little while in Texas porn was broadcast during the super bowl. Based on your logic you shouldn’t let your kid watch the super bowl anymore.
I’ve notice that all of the people posting here are mothers, and that in a lot of ways you are clueless as to what your sons really get into. As far as daughters idk how many of their mothers knew what I was doing with their daughters when they told you that we were going to go to a movie. Believe me its not hard to fool your parents.
I’m not saying go ahead let them do whatever they want but these “morals” and “values” are all relative to what society as a whole deems them. So maybe you just need to accept that the interweb will get them eventually, and facebook is hardly the worst place they could be. So you should be happy when they get a facebook and spend all of their time on that instead of roaming the interweb. You may say that’s what is wrong with society but to society you are the minority and it has deemed you to be what’s wrong.
We are talking about CHILDREN. There is no reason for a young child to have a facebook page. None. I don’t shelter my kids and hide them from the world. I do parent and protect them the best I can. Kids grow up way to fast these days.
No, my kids are not sitting around watching the Super Bowl. My kids are exploring, creating and learning. Exactly what they should be doing. Growing their minds, not wasting it in front of the television.
I think some of you youngsters that are commenting are missing the point completely. I’m sure that will change once you have kids.
If you knew us you would know that my kids have it good. I’m the mom that their friends say is awesome.
There have been studies done kids are growing up slower than they used to. The average age when kids moved out of their parents house used to be 18, now its closer to 27.
I don’t care if you children’s friends say you’re awesome, that should hold no basis on if you’re a good parent or not. The fact that you brought it up makes me doubt you.
And I do get your point but your reasons for what you’re saying are being greatly exaggerated. First of all I have had a facebook page for more than 6 years and I don’t ever recall seeing porn on it. Then you might bring up the point of the child predators or something on facebook, well there are ways that you can limit what they see, and if your confident in your parenting you shouldn’t worry about you child’s ability to essentially identify the predator and tell him or her to f*** off.
I watched the super bowl, god forbid I lost half a day of time that i could have been doing crafts, and growing my mind. Now if you said that you dont let them watch the disney channel then i would have praised you, but the super bowl isnt anything to scoff at.
