Around the World Game

06.11.2013 by Girl on Fire // 2 Comments

Education is best when it is fun!  I have said it time and time again.  If you make it fun, they will learn.  Very few people actually like to sit down and read a text book.  So dry, so boring, such a waste of time!  We are homeschoolers and we choose to keep education natural and fun.  Thankfully there are games available that can help feed that learning spirit!  Around the World™ is an award-winning  board game that will take players on a travel adventure around the world.

The game includes Global Scorecards, World Wonder cards, gems, tokens and over 200 trivia questions on People & Places, Cultures & Customs, Language and Geography of the world!

ATWG-header-logoAround the World is best for older kids, but my younger girls can play it with help.  Players will learn languages, customs, facts about culture and much more!  It’s similar to a game of trivia and kids will quickly memorize and remember the facts from the game.  They’ll be learning and not even know it!  This is a great way to expand on your homeschool lessons, or to keep those brains working during the summer!

Winner of the Dr. Toy Best Children’s Product award, and critically acclaimed on game websites and magazines, Around the World™ is rapidly becoming one of the hottest educational games on the market. Aside from it’s immense popularity with parents and teachers, Around the World™ trivia collector cards have been featured by many large corporations, including Starbucks and Barnes & Noble, and are currently being used by the United States Military in Africa (AFRICOM).

Great for family game night as well as the classroom!  A great extension to your current curriculum!

So what exactly do you do during this game?  Well, your goal is to travel around the world.  You do so by answering questions correctly (trivia).  By answering the questions correctly, you earn tokens to fill up your Global scorecard.   The first player to “travel around the world” and fill in their Global scorecard wins.  Don’t worry if you do not know an answer!  I honestly did not know a lot of them haha!  Just set aside the cards you got wrong.  Then make it fun by searching the internet to find the answers, be sure to let the kids help and do it together!  Not only will they gain knowledge, but they will learn how to research to find the answers that they need.ATWG

Interested?  Well you can get 10% off!  Be sure to head over to the Facebook page and see what others have to say!  Also, by liking the facebook page you are entered to win one of the ATWG board games (given away every month).  You can also win a free game by submitting your very own travel photos!  Each month two or three of the photos are chosen as winners and the winners get their photo and their story on the ATWG blog as well as a free board game.

We received the game mentioned above to facilitate this review.  No compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
