Aromatherapy and Oils

Aromatherapy is the application of essential oils extracted from flowers, stems, leaves, bark, and roots to improve physical and psychological wellness. The oils account for the immune system that protects plants from attacks by other organisms. The application can be done through massage or one can simply inhale the aroma. Certain oils trigger emotional effects rather than just the physical.

Essential oils affect our moods.  Aromatherapy stimulates our brains positively. Different emotions are experienced according to the specific aroma compound involved according to Draxe. The following are oils that help improve your mood:

Lavender oil

Latin name of Lavender is lavare which means to wash. Lavender oil has an herbal and floral scent. It is very good in calming the mind as well as eliminating nervous tension. Lavender oil is also great for curing sleep disorders and generally improves an individual’s moods.

Rosemary oil

This oil is good for boosting your energy says Esoteric oils. It is stimulating and very refreshing. Rosemary oil will improve your memory tremendously. Rosemary relieves stress and invokes deep relaxation. Research also indicates that rosemary oil leaves the user feeling content and increase in performance is realized.  

Vetiver (root) oil

Vetiver oil is also known as khus oil. This oil, in particular, has an earthy aroma. The oil not only improves your mood but also helps your brain to be grounded and centered. This means you will be focused and at peace. Vetiver oil dispels anger, hysteria and certain forms of neurotic behavior.  Several users report significant anxiety reduction after using the oil.

Geranium oil

Geranium oil is often colorless but at times it can have a green tint. This fresh and leafy scented oil is able to uplift your mood accordingly.  It is very useful in lessening fatigue and improving your emotional wellness.

Peppermint oil

Peppermint oil makes one feel strong, healthy and full of energy. Peppermint is incredibly useful in enhancing one’s memory. It is usually recommended for students. Its ability to boost energy levels is also commendable.  

YlangYlang oil

YlangYlang which means flowers of flowers produces oil that is sexually arousing and also balances your mood. This oil can be used aromatically to promote peace. YlangYlang oil is also great for helping patients with depression or anxiety related syndromes.

Jasmine oil

Jasmine oil is extracted from the Jasmine plant scientifically called Jasminum Grandiflora (Royal Jasmine) and Jasminum Officinale (Common Jasmine). This oil is sweet and sensual scented. It increases your sex drive, acts as an antidepressant and has a calming effect.

Rose oil

Extracted from one of the most beautiful flowers in the world is the rose oil. Rose oil is good in boosting confidence and excites one sexually.

Bergamot oil

Bergamot oil is one of the most uplifting oils with a great citrus aroma. Bergamot oil rejuvenates and purifies your mind. It is also very refreshing.

Conclusion

From the above-mentioned benefits of using aromatherapy, we have no reason not to use them for the wellness of our minds and bodies. One can also use them for beauty purposes and also for medicine of various illnesses. Buying wholesale essential oils is a great way to save money, which will also lift your mood tremendously!
