America’s Public Education and The Rise in Homeschooling

06.29.2012 by Girl on Fire // 2 Comments

Now, before anyone get’s mad and says I’m a “hater” or any of those other ignorant words that are thrown around when someone doesn’t see eye to eye…I do not hate Public School kids, I do not think you are a crappy parent for using the Public Schools.

I have a lot more to say on the matter, but am not in the mood for a debate today.

I do not hate teachers.  Promise!  Regardless of my multiple attempts to say this is nothing personal, or an attack on Public School families, it will surely be taken as such by some.  I’m asking you to not be so defensive and actually think before assuming I’m a big ‘ol meanie pants.

I enjoyed this post. I advocate all forms of education where the parents are actively involved. That really is the key whether in private, public or home school. Even private schools require a considerable amount of invested time for parents at the school on top of the tuition. Public schools seem to spend time leaving parents out. I am enrolling my child in a public school because I’m a single parent that works. After I get off of work though, I have additional curriculum I spend with my child. I know that my attention on after school studies are just as important.

Yesterday’s Birthday Girl is Sick…

Poor Emma has caught some sort of funk.  She woke up around 4:30 this morning crying and needing to use the potty.  When I touched her she was on fire.  Fevers scare me, they scare me even more with Emma though.  A few years ago Emma had a Grand Mal seizure.  This was not a […]
