After The Honeymoon

WINNERS:

pregvideoboxFast forward a few months after that honeymoon…you suddenly feel ill, tired and your boobs hurt.  You’re pregnant! Yep, you are!

As the weeks go by, you get bigger and bigger.  So big that you can never get comfortable and to even consider sex?  Forget it, right?  Actually you don’t have to forget it!  There are ways to make it work!

As a mom (that has been pregnant three times) I know that there are ways to make it work.  Figuring it all out was a little difficult and frustrating though.  Recently I was able to review a DVD from the Sinclair Intimacy Institute.  It is called “The Better Sex Guide To Sex & Pregnancy: Connected & Loving It!“.  I was not sure what to expect.  I was very surprised at how professional and tastefully this video was made.  It is not anything like a cheese ball porno.  It was actually real couples talking and actually demonstrating different methods and positions that make it easier on both the Husband and the Wife.

They have 2 versions of this DVD.  They have the explicit sex ed version, as well as the non-explicit, no nudity version. The non-explicit version is called “Your Sexual Pregnancy: Sexy Connected & Loving It!“.  I watched the explicit version and as I stated I was amazed at how tasteful it was.  I didn’t get any weirdness from watching it.  J watched part of it too and he wasn’t even inclined to make a joke of it.  That says a lot right there.  I felt it was very informative and educational.  This would be a great thing for any pregnant couple.

The Sinclair Institute is the leading provider of sexual health products and education for adults who want to improve the quality of the intimacy in their relationships.

The topics are presented in a way that is recommended by therapists.  I promise you will not feel “dirty” from watching it.  I am not a porno person and this is definitely not on the same lines as porn. If it had been I would tell you that this is just porn.  It’s not!  It’s a great tool to help you through your pregnancy and keep the spark alive through this wonderful time in your life.

“Despite the abundance of the information and guidance that exists for pregnant couples, an educational gap still exists in the area of sexual intimacy,” Coleman said.  “By promoting intimacy during pregnancy, these videos can strengthen a couple’s bond during an already joyous time in their lives.”

The Sinclair Institute was founded in 1991 and provides accurate and engaging information that supports the sexual relationships of healthy, individuals and couples.

I wish I had access to this years ago during my pregnancies!  It would have saved me a lot of discomfort and headache! I am a mom and I really think as a pregnant woman you will enjoy having this information.  You can watch them by yourself or with your partner.  It will make you feel more comfortable and ease your mind about concerns you have.  It will also dispel some myths you may have heard about sex and pregnancy as well.

Research Says: Have Sex!

Research shows that couples who are proactive about sex during pregnancy have a better chance of maintaining their sex lives post-pregnancy. A 1988 German study by Heinig and Engler found that couples who enjoyed sexual activity during pregnancy evaluated their relationship more positively four months after delivery when it came to tenderness and communication than those couples who didn’t share any mutual sexual pleasures during pregnancy.

Those making an effort to stay sexually connected during all three trimesters only stand to realize more sexual satisfaction both during pregnancy and after the baby arrives. In many ways, pleasure and satisfaction can be greater than ever dreamt possible. A 1999 meta-analysis conducted by Dr. Kirsten von Sydow showed that mutual happiness decreases greatly after the birth of a couple’s first child, with sexual intimacy especially vulnerable. For those having trouble getting past any issues they have with sex during pregnancy, know that it’s perfectly healthy to maintain your passion pursuits. As stated in Childbirth Education: Practice, Research, and Theory, many expectant couples get experimental, changing sexual positions and trying new forms of pleasuring, e.g., sex games.

As you navigate Sinclair’s information on pregnant sex, it is our hope that the next nine months will be the most rewarding and fulfilling possible. We are here to help you meet each other’s needs and realize mutual pleasuring and enjoyment during this time. We hope that our website and video will help in making this wonderful time in your lives that much more magnificent, extraordinary, and sexually, sensually fused. We wish you the best in your pregnant sex adventures!

The Sinclair Intimacy Institute wants to give 3 readers their own copy! They are being very generous in giving 3 copies! They retail for $29.95 each.

What an interesting idea. I’m currently in the getting bigger and bigger stage and it seems like DH is currently in the getting less and less interested stage. Kind of a niche product, but a niche that I happen to be in! Thanks for hosting this contest. I like, when I get my body back, to try THIS out. I’ve always seen them in magazines and they look like… um… fun 🙂

A tummy tuck is a common cosmetic procedure that removes excess skin and fat around the abdomen area. It repairs the muscles (known as a six-pack) that may have separated because of weight gain, childbirth, or the natural process of aging. After a tummy tuck, you will get to enjoy a flatter stomach that is […]
