It’s a fact that major sporting events consume massive amounts of energy. Think about it, lighting a stadium has to use a ton of energy and very expensive. But over the last few years, sports venues have begun incorporating energy-efficient strategies with green design elements. These changed include more efficient lighting systems, composting and on-site power generation.

The new football stadium at UNT is green. It’s run on solar energy and everything. I’ll have to see how “green” everything else is with the stadium, but I think it’s pretty cool they can do things like this now!
