Using various spices can help you to both add flavor to your food and improve your health. Once you start to notice the beneficial effects of eating better foods flavored with herbs and spices, you may never want to go back to your old less-healthy eating habits.
If you’re not used to spicing in your food, start adding it gradually until you get used to the flavor and discover with spices you enjoy eating the most.

Spices for Pain Relief
Using cbd edibles is becoming more common for pain relief, but adding certain spices to your food can help if this isn’t an option for you.
Consider adding some cloves to baked goods, adding some extra chili peppers to your main dish, trying a curry with turmeric, or drinking some ginger or mint tea.
All of these spices can have an anti-inflammatory effect and minimize any pain you’re experiencing. Of course, just a touch of the spice may not provide total relief, but the more you include these spices in your diet, the more of an effect you may experience.
Adding these spices to foods that also provide pain relief benefits can increase the effect. So start munching a bit more often on salmon, blueberries, pumpkin seeds, and tart cherries and using olive oil more often.
Spices for Heart Health
Many spices may also provide some heart-health benefits. Actually, any spices that you add to your food that help you limit the amount of salt, sugar, and fat you include in your recipes can help your heart, since too much of any of these things can adversely affect your cardiovascular health.
However, some spices, in particular, have shown heart-health benefits. These include turmeric, cloves, thyme, and garlic.
Turmeric and cloves are both commonly used in Indian food, and thyme and garlic are popular in Italian food, so even if you want to eat out, you can find foods containing these beneficial herbs and spices.
Spices for Reducing Anxiety
Spices and herbs that flavor your food can also be useful for helping to limit anxiety. Examples include chamomile, often used to make a calming tea, turmeric, and ginger.
If you’re on anxiety medication, you probably won’t be able to stop taking it, but you may see some additional benefits if you consume more of these herbs and spices.
Some common foods may also help with anxiety, including chocolate, Brazil nuts, eggs, yogurt, green tea, pumpkin seeds, and fatty fish, all of which contain nutrients that may be beneficial for this condition.
As you may have noticed, some of these herbs and spices have multiple health benefits, and for most people, there are no health risks from consuming them in the amounts typically found in foods.
Just be sure to check with your doctor before greatly increasing your intake of an herb or spice or taking them in supplemental form rather than simply eating more foods or beverages that contain these herbs and spices.
As with any supplement, it can be possible to get too much of a good thing and certain herbs may adversely interact with medications you might be taking for your current health problems.
